Any owners of ROG FrontBase with Z170?

Hello guys,

I'd just like to ask if any of you are using ROG FrontBase panel since I'm going to get a Hero VIII for the 6700K in the next month.

I'd like to know if the FrontBase is worth it. I'd use it as a fan controller and OC/DC options on it.

What interests me is if I can set the vcore/frequency independently for the 3 levels of OC on it, and that it's not predefined options.

If the front base is anything like the OC Panel, it is definitely not worth it.
These ROG boards have a the ROG Connect feature wits allows you to connect a second computer to the ROG computer with a USB cable, and control voltages while the rig is running. It's a much better way to OC than the panel, provides graphs and other helpful read outs.

I had the OC Panel but only used ROG Connect on my laptop to overclock, so eventually sold it.

Thanks for the answer. I know the boards have the options to connect another PC via the USB but I'd prefer the controls to be on the case. I was thinking of getting a fan controller but this seems a bit better since it has other options also. I'd use the 3 OC levels it has, one for lowest clock while browsing etc, one for regular PC usage, and one bigger OC for gaming and cpu intensive tasks. If I'm able to set the values to what I want since there is no option to do it on the controller itself, I'd like to know if it's software allows that.

The reviews are pretty poor, can't find any major info on the FrontBase. None of them show the bundled software, so that's why I needed to ask here.
