Eh, thing is is that it will. If your pushing more frame rate and using the same amount of power performance per watt goes up. This probably raises the power consumption slightly (not talking vsynced) but it's still going to increase the efficiency.

NM, your talking about hierarchy. Still don't agree.

I knew that there would be significant gains but that is amazing drool.gif

I honestly believed that FPS would never benefit from Async Shaders-- that only RTS like AotS and Total War would benefit, for all the units onscreen.

I stand corrected.

Beware Async Compute is disabled with some AA, you gotta use the compatible AA or no AA. It's on r/AMD and Bethesda's twitter or where I saw it. So if you're doing comparisons, beware.

Here.

DOOM GL vs Vulkan on an awesome AMD 480. Heads up benchmarkers, use TSSAA or no AA (else Async Compute is disabled)

Now more people will get to enjoy what we've been enjoying when running Battlefield 4 using Mantle since January 2014.

Congrats DOOM players.

Awesome showing by AMD cards.

Decided to test with my system. Ultra settings with motion blur and depth of field disabled with TSSAA.
Edit: If I did my math right, this is an improvement of 52%
OpenGL
