vulkan blows chunks on nvidia. or should i saw nvidia blows chunks w/vulkan(?)

switched API, which restarted the game and noticed a few stutters albeit no OSD. after going through the blue door in hell, grabbed the red orb thingy and crash/locked at the menu to select what i wanted to upgrade.

game was saved going through the door and no crash/lock second time i got the orb but noticed another stutter before i jumped before i looked and died.

however i seem to be able to kill monsters more efficiently so there's that. tongue.gif

you should probably wait for Nvidia Doom-Vulkan driver first if there's crashes


although its unlikely to give an fps boost for reasons discussed above, so might as well keep playing on OpenGL

Would like to see perf/w now with vulkan on 480x vs pascal. it should be better now but still behind pascal ofc.

you should probably wait for Nvidia Doom-Vulkan driver first if there's crashes

nvidia has been claiming they're "vulkan ready" for awhile now and even have a few demos.

the chopper demo crashes consistently except using the driver from the dev section.

it's a freaking joke. no apologists are necessary.

cool, I wonder if the 260X performs closer to the Xbox One version with Vulkan, with OGL it was far behind, comparing consoles vs the PC OGL version the game look a lot better optimized on consoles.

Had a 780 in my shopping cart back in 2013. Decided to take a chance on the 290x instead. It was a good call.

Now I've got a 1080 in my cart, and this comes up. Cart is empty again, but no 290x on the horizon.
