Okay i know i've given the mint guys an extremely hard time in the past. I believed what they were doing was the same thing as ubuntu was doing, but they were getting praise for it, ubuntu was being relentlessly attacked for it. Now i've changed my mind about this, I tried out cinnamon 3.0 after reading a review on it on zdnet:
at first i thought the guy was being hyperbolic as i only ever had bad experiences with cinnamon, but it seems that was all due to me being on ubuntu. I installed it on antergos, and with in a half hour, I must say, i think it just might be the best desktop ever :). it looks extremely good with antergos's numix theme, and a few additional applets, like i replaced the window list with one that does grouping (grouping is a must imho). so far, it performs extremely well and feels a lot like a DE should. I highly recommend any one to try it who hasn't already :).
