Cinnamon 3.0.0

Okay i know i've given the mint guys an extremely hard time in the past. I believed what they were doing was the same thing as ubuntu was doing, but they were getting praise for it, ubuntu was being relentlessly attacked for it. Now i've changed my mind about this, I tried out cinnamon 3.0 after reading a review on it on zdnet:

at first i thought the guy was being hyperbolic as i only ever had bad experiences with cinnamon, but it seems that was all due to me being on ubuntu. I installed it on antergos, and with in a half hour, I must say, i think it just might be the best desktop ever :). it looks extremely good with antergos's numix theme, and a few additional applets, like i replaced the window list with one that does grouping (grouping is a must imho). so far, it performs extremely well and feels a lot like a DE should. I highly recommend any one to try it who hasn't already :).

I am running cinnamon 3.0 and it is not bad. I like Mate but on my new build I could not get the audio to work with Mate. I am struggling to get things how I like on Cinnamon. Seems small changes to the appearance were much easier with Mate. like panel color.and adding a cursor with sizing. But something seem better on Cinnamon. The hidpi scaling is a lot better and when I want to scale even more it scales most things at the same time. As opposed to individually. That is a lot nicer for noobs.

Alth8ugh I have struggle with increasing the ioons on the menu. Maybe I just have not found the setting yet. It is a nice desktop and everything did work correctly with this one out of the box. So I cant complain.

Even though I have been running Linux for 2 years now I am very much a noob so take my opinion for what it is.
