This is the most I've seen from a "big" outlet on the issue.. http://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/NVIDIA-Release-36895-Hotfix-Driver-DPC-Latency

NVIDIA has acknowledged the issue and, just yesterday, released an optional hotfix. Upon installing the driver, while it could just be psychosomatic, the system felt a lot more responsive.

48hrs since this was revealed and nvidia had a fix.

So the system felt a lot more responsive, even though they never mentioned anything about Pascal cards being unresponsive in their reviews at all, and Nvidia did a great job of fixing the issue so quickly.. rolleyes.gif

AMD's 480 PCIE spec issue had dozens of articles, many from PCPer themselves, and was plastered all over the internet, and guess what? That garbage got fixed, that's the way these corporations should be treated, but when it comes to Nvidias "issues", not a word.

More on principle than money. How else can you get them to fix the problem if no outlets are threatening their sales by raising awareness about it?

GTX 1060. Ouch.

Hotfix driver is causing massive issues as soon as I open OBS, so it's worthless to me.

Could anyone with the hotfix installed please download obs studio, add display capture and tell me what happens? For me it's causing massive stuttering in obs itself, start menu and explorer.

No such issue with the prev driver.

Trust me, I wish I could cheer up. I have not been able to enjoy the only game I love since installing this card. On the plus side, my human interaction has been at an all time high. Then again not so sure that is a good thing. People suck.

when I built my first gaming rig I had my psu wreck two r9 290s. I ended up paying for a PSU twice, and my rig was without a proper GPU for over 2 months and without mobo for a month, so 3 months total, imagine that here in Poland where high end PC components cost a friggin fortune . What you are experiencing would not upset me half as bad as it's upsetting you.

yup. most of them do.

Well, I didn't exactly give the full story. Not that I am looking for any sympathy. I just want my PC working like its supposed to.

Way over a month ago I ordered my GTX 1080. Two days after ordering it from Amazon I managed to murder my 32GB Mushkin 4x8GB quad channel kit without having any idea I did. At the time my PC was shutting down and restarting then getting stuck trying to power on and shutting down over and over. I thought it was the power supply so I went and bought a refurbished unit from eBay. I waited to get it, replaced the PSU and same behavior so I was like well crap, I guess my motherboard bit the bullet so I ordered a replacement motherboard. Motherboard comes in and the seller had claimed it was new yet the seal had been broken, I say screw it and give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I install the new motherboard and behavior remains the same. At this point I was wondering if he had sent me a broken board or someone else's returned board. Turns out he had bought a whole mess of these Foxconn motherboards and broken the seals on all of them to verify they were all working properly. Mobo was fine. At this point I was freakin out thinking that I had killed my 4930K so out comes the Mr. Yolo within me and says screw it, time for a 4960X. 4960X arrives and I am sure that would be the last of my headaches. I install it and guess what still happens? PC still refuses to POST and keeps shutting down seconds after startup. At this point I am like no freakin way its my RAM. (Insert the Dude) Yeah. Well. That's just like. Your opinion. Man. So I go to Micro Center and buy some RAM, reset the CMOS and rig fires up. Never in my life have I felt like a bigger idiot.

Then the real fun. I am happy that my PC is at least now finally working right? I get everything back to normal and go to play CSGO then I run into this DPC latency and frametime spiking causing microstutter. This is when I just lost it. I raged pretty hard for a day or so.

TL:DR: I nearly bought enough parts to build a 2nd gaming rig because I didn't realize I had killed my RAM. Got the rig working again only to find out my shiny new waterblocked GTX 1080 was working like crap in CSGO.
