Wow!

But hey, why stop now? Just buy another GPU, more ram and bam, marry a gamer girl and everything will be fine! biggrin.gif

Way over a month ago I ordered my GTX 1080. Two days after ordering it from Amazon I managed to murder my 32GB Mushkin 4x8GB quad channel kit without having any idea I did. At the time my PC was shutting down and restarting then getting stuck trying to power on and shutting down over and over. I thought it was the power supply so I went and bought a refurbished unit from eBay. I waited to get it, replaced the PSU and same behavior so I was like well crap, I guess my motherboard bit the bullet so I ordered a replacement motherboard. Motherboard comes in and the seller had claimed it was new yet the seal had been broken, I say screw it and give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I install the new motherboard and behavior remains the same. At this point I was wondering if he had sent me a broken board or someone else's returned board. Turns out he had bought a whole mess of these Foxconn motherboards and broken the seals on all of them to verify they were all working properly. Mobo was fine. At this point I was freakin out thinking that I had killed my 4930K so out comes the Mr. Yolo within me and says screw it, time for a 4960X. 4960X arrives and I am sure that would be the last of my headaches. I install it and guess what still happens? PC still refuses to POST and keeps shutting down seconds after startup. At this point I am like no freakin way its my RAM. (Insert the Dude) Yeah. Well. That's just like. Your opinion. Man. So I go to Micro Center and buy some RAM, reset the CMOS and rig fires up. Never in my life have I felt like a bigger idiot.

Then the real fun. I am happy that my PC is at least now finally working right? I get everything back to normal and go to play CSGO then I run into this DPC latency and frametime spiking causing microstutter. This is when I just lost it. I raged pretty hard for a day or so.

TL:DR: I nearly bought enough parts to build a 2nd gaming rig because I didn't realize I had killed my RAM. Got the rig working again only to find out my shiny new waterblocked GTX 1080 was working like crap in CSGO.
lol
was the whole kit broken ? all 4 sticks ?

Oh yeah. I flat out killed those sticks. I still have to return them to Mushkin to see if they will replace them or not.

I feel i can't make any kind of jokes anywhere, people will always point at my nick and start shooting rocket launchers at me. Don't worry, this nick is coming along with me from the times when internet trolls didn't exist, i was just unlucky when that plague appeared.

Now back on topic and let's just hope the next nvidia drivers will fix this damn thing once for all.

LOL, I actually had a laugh at your post. No rocket launchers here. As for trolls, they have existed far before the interwebs but the anonymity of the netizen has given rise to the proliferation of the troll.

You may be right. When i created it, the only trolls i knew where the ugly green ones and the ones that we could comb their long hair. Since i was a strange kid, i had to create a nick of my own instead of using an existed one, so this thing came out and has been around for over 15 years, i can't just let it go. rolleyes.gif

One could easily argue that what we have today aren't trolls. They're sadists. In my books there's an ocean between someone who says silly things and plays ignorant to encourage lulz and someone who spews pure hate to upset someone else for no one else's amusement but their own and extremely like minded people.
