Honestly, I am not regretting my 1070 purchase at all, even though "technically" I was effected by this. I upgraded from a 290X Reference to the MSI 1070 Gaming X and first never noticed ANY type of stuttering or tearing. I ran LatencyMon and what do you know, I got bad readings so yes technically I was effected but it seems to only be noticeable at 200+ FPS which I never get on my 27inch 1440P monitor and running every game at Ultra settings, BUT i do get 60+ FPS in everything so the upgrade is worth it. I will also say that the hotfix driver did "fix" the issue somewhat as it lowered the readings in LatencyMon and said my system was now good compared to it "having issues" before.

Decision is still entirely up to you, but if you are making a decent upgrade like i did, I say go for it. I don't regret it at all.

I don't regret it either. I don't have high fps problems, i can play Overwatch and CS:GO at over 200fps without any problems and every game i tried, it ran just fine.

The only problem i got is the video playback, it's like i'm on a Pentium II trying to play some 1080p video, it gives random micro-stutters that, honestly, are quite annoying. Still, i don't regret my 1070, it's a shame that an expensive card give this kind of problems and i'm also hoping it's fixable through drivers, but in general, i think this is the only complain i've got and i'm pretty happy with the card in everything else.

Its a decision between a 980 Ti for $40 more (which goes over 200FPS fine), or a 1070 Gaming X.

I got my 1070 just before all this hit the fan, I'm not disappointed at all, just hope they will sort it all out. I still feel sure that "in time" they will. thumb.gif

I remember the 970 and 980 having this issue...

You are upgrading from a 980 Ti? Or you are choosing between a 980 Ti or 1070 Gaming X? Again, if this was me personally I would still choose the 1070 Gaming X... Yes this is an issue that is going on now but I believe it will be fixed with correct drivers in the future and it will just be something we will look back on.

Was not aware of that. This is my first green in 5 years.

Choosing. I really hope this gets fixed soon. Tired of all these issues.

You know I wish AMD had a card that was 1070 performance. Tired of NVIDIA. My old AMD cards rarely encountered stuff like this, but this seems to be commonplace on new NVIDIA cards.

Well, if you're spending $400 on something, I'd make sure it gets all the basics right, and apparently, most of the 10 series cards get that wrong. It's a darn Video card, and has to get that straight. It's like getting a smartphone where its shoots 4K videos at 1000fps, but drops the call after every 30 seconds.
