For me just sat on desktop i get high spikes

I would not keep any software open that is polling multiple sensors while you're trying to test DPC latency. That is going to throw off your reading.

I have this problem on a Titan X on a fresh install of win10, maybe this planned obsolescence was meant for the older generations and they accidentally screwed up the current gen too. Way to go nvidia!thumb.gif

Note that DPC latency checker does not work for win 10 correctly only use this for win 7

I Use latencymon for win 10
yeah I have a 1070 win 8.1, very high DPC latency.

I have 2 windows power profiles, one I use just for web browsing and when I leave pc idle. Second I use for gaming or whenever I decide I want max performance.

The performance profile I made has average dpc latency around 50-70 us which seems high compared to everyone else alone but I know is acceptable, but keeps spiking to around 600us with nvidia driver been the blame.
If I choose my power efficient profile which is not an all out power savings profile its just balanced between full on saving and performance, the spikes go all the way up to 5000us which is crazy.

With that said tho, I have no symptoms, my system runs fine, no glitches etc. in audio, I just found this problem by reading stuff on the net about pascal.

K-Boost in EVGA's OC tool could help, locks clocks and voltages to their max. Doesn't override GPU Boost throttling though.
Also it's only available on EVGA cards now despite being usable for 100% of 900 Series cards.
EVGA decided to be jerks and restrict useful features like K-Boost strictly to their cards, as if anyone is going to buy an EVGA GPU just for a mode in your OC tool, piss off.

Watching this closely myself as I also have a 1070 on the way. I passed on the R480 because of issues. rolleyes.gif

I dont have a Pascal card, but decided to check my latency anyway to see what it is like with dual 980's. Figured it would help reinforce the idea that this isnt an issue on other Nvidia cards at all for right now. I have a bunch of stuff running in the background and a video playing in the foreground when doing the check and max latency is still under 100 microseconds.

Just because you don't have a problem doesn't mean it doesn't exist and/or it won't happen. NVIDIA's DPC latency issues go back to the fermi days.
I had this issue happen to me on a GTX 460 and at the time like you there was a good period of time when i could have posted something like you just posted, until 2 years later the card suddently decided to have these issues mid gaming session and remaining no matter which driver version would be installed. And no driver released ever fixed the problem for which i wouldn't be surprised if something at the driver level causes an irreparable hardware failure/glitch/defect of some sort. The paranoid side of me even considers the possibility of it being a planned obsolescence trigger happening too soon.
