Drivers can't optimise a hardware defect or lack of hardware (Nvidia and their claims they were working on an Async driver months ago).

Actually earlier than that they promised a bios fix for the 880M throttling issue, but that bios never came and the community modders had to step in as usual to pick up their slack. But since this was strictly a laptop only problem few have heard about it.

I was just tinkering around and noticed if I fired up AIDA64 Stress test I go back into the green with a Youtube video playing. On system Idle watching video's or doing nothing at all I'm in the Yellow or Red. I do have all my Cstates enabled. I'm thinking this issue may be related

Edit: unchecking everything but Stress CPU puts me in the normal range

You should set the CPU power plan to maximum performance (instead of throttled) when testing

I am running 2 x Gigabyte GTX 1070's G1's in SLI and getting the lag / stuttering issue. My latency at idle is close to 1000 and sometime spikes just over at idle.

Im running Asus Z97 Sabretooth MK II

15 4690K

Asus PG279Q 165hz Gsync screen.

When i turn off in device manager 1080 i get 30 us.

My gsync monitor is not working properly because of this, gsync was supposed to be butter smooth, but i'm getting micro stutters.

500us is an awful number. I'm getting around 15us without the nvidia GPU issue.

strange. in my case (and I think in most peopel's cases as well) the latency in idle is higher than under load, mine sits at ~30us 99% of the time when gpu is stressed, although it reaches higher values in idle.

doesn't really cause any trouble.
