Ongoing Pascal latency problems - Hotfix doesn't work for everyone. - Page 39

fud? "Fear, uncertainty and doubt"? People throw that term around a lot whenever anything is wrong with any hardware or software. Putting your fingers in your ears and humming loudly is the worst thing to do when faced with issues in hardware/software (especially fixable software stuff)

We've had DPC-related issues for years. There are a bunch of other issues with GPU drivers - software based issues - that have been around for years and negatively affect the experience of hundreds of thousands of users and for most of these issues there is a crowd of people who deny that there is anything wrong.. usually people who own the affected hardware and don't understand that downplaying issues will just lead to later fixes (if they're fixed at all) and lower quality work in general.

I am always quite harsh on some of the bigger issues, not because i hate X company (as many people would point out) but because i want to buy the hardware and i want it to not be broken in some important way - something that i think most other people want, as well. This DPC thing is merely a small annoyance for me, but it's one on the list of issues that deserves a fix

Either those reviews are crap or they were hiding it....

I can only speculate but here is my thoughts.

Games are not affected for everyone, my system has the symptons in DPC latency monitor but I do not get stuttering in games ro video apps.
Also most of the spikes stop when the gpu is using 3d clocks.

With that said reviewers are actually really marketers for the product, I think thats a better way of describing them.
They publish information about the product most of the time following guidelines sent by the vendor, e.g. they get advised on which other products to compare to and given slides to publish on their site.
In return they get free early access to hardware and traffic to their site.

Occasionally issues get brought up but they seem to mostly originate from complaints from end users which sort of forces their hand to go public.

It is what it is sadly, they wont bite the hand that feeds them.

e.g. only yesterday I watched a vid on paul's hardware where he causually states all 1080s will reach 2100 clocks, yet in the UK asus are failing to supply their strix gamer OC card because they unable to produce enough cards to even reach 1950 clocks never mind 2100. I got no idea why paul made that claim.

Also a pci express consumer intel nic card will have worse DPC then the onboard intel nic's smile.gif. The only way you will improve is probably buying a server class nic which is lots of $$$.

Except I have a Realtek based integrated NIC and it sucks because their drivers are hot garbage.
Then yeah with a realtek its worth buying a pci-e intel nic.

Does any one else think its kind of odd that the tech sites and so called tech 'press' are virtually silent on all of these latest issues affecting NV's cards? There have been multiple issues, some resolved some still unresolved and some may not be, yet not a peep. The difference in treatment between when frame pacing was plastered across the internet, and the complete silence in NV's favor to keep any issues at as low profile as possible is ridiculous. We should call Mr. Smooth himself Ryan Shrout to the rescue!

NV has earned the reputation for being unreliable.

I see the Pokémon king is still here spouting useless fanboi nonsense........

Just ignore him,he has no idea of what he talks about unless it came from Nvidia marketing. Not even seen anything from him to provide any data on this subject from this card that he supposedly owns when everyone else has.....tyrekicker at best.

most people dont have any audio/gameplay issues with 1070/1080, its unfortunate that your system does

thus either sell the Pascal or wait the driver

Nobody is salty.
People just have a problem with your constant white knighting.

Why dont you show us a screenshot of your 1080 on idle, load and YouTube video with of few minutes measurement of DPC.

NV latency has always been there and with the 10xx series cards its beyond ridiculous.

Offcourse they will fix the huge spikes on the 10xx series but believe me NV latency will never truly go away.

You can find thousands of post about latency related to NV drivers, thousands all from before this happened with the 10xx series cards.
You have hundreds if not more posts with people having latency problems on there 1070 or 1080 with actual proof.
Still you believe its a non issue because it so called doesnt effect you ?

Wouldnt you be trolling AMD forums hard if this problem would be on there side ?

Anyways just show us proof of your non problem and people might react less heated towards your biased comments.

Hi,

I bought an Palit Game Rock 1070GTX and have major issues. I am not sure if this is the same problem here? I have stutterings every 5-10 seconds and micro sturrering. The image freezes for half a second every 5 seconds. Youtube and on the desktop too. I checked it with that latency tool and it looks like the image below. So I am not sure, should I sent the card back? I am not able to play any games anymore. Especially as I play with the Oculus Rift, it is ridiculous. It also has coil whistle.

Actually I can´t play any games anymore. I sold my old AMD card and now I´m sold. Looks like Nvidia will need some time for a fix (if this is fixable?)
