these issues don't get picked up by reviewers because they have deadlines, they are human, and like all of us, they are human and have their own prejudices. Check out reviews of recent AMD video cards, every reviewer out there is "looking" for a downside. Now read any recent NVIDIA review, the reviewers generally are all glowing/happy and enthusiastic, nearly squealing like 14yo girls at a justin beaver concert. they aren't looking for bad things in a nvidia release.

One of the issues about FCAT that I still am waiting for someone to review is it DOESN'T work with the 9xx series of cards. No one seems to have noticed that the latencies reported don't match the experience of the user.

Yes agree
i have contacted the majority of the review sites re this and i am surprised at the response i have got from it thus far.

re Prejudices
now i am not sure if its down to nvidia having some sort of agreement re tech there given 1st with the reviewers but more likely cash deals and the launch parties they splash out on hotels ect ect AMD do not seem have this kind of offers

But its all so to do with the thing called mind share that being Nvidia has a lot of either from good marketing more cash spent as opposed to AMD who knows

the thing is most of the responses i have got from the tech sites is they where all unaware of this DPC issue

But what bugs me the most its been what over 2 months now and i very much doubt Nvidia where unaware of this problem .....they knew this well before the 10 series was even released .....I am sure of it

We need more transparent reviews more in depth testing to be done ...

This is the first I've heard of this.

Where the FCAT overlay can be used there shouldn't be any way for a properly configured FCAT setup to report anything other than what the user sees. All FCAT does is put a colored overlay on each frame, then the output is then recorded, at the physical level.

FCAT is as objective as it gets. If the user experience doesn't seem to line up with it, then the user is at fault, or the problem noticed doesn't have to do with frame intervals.

Thx

what is strange is that you say it worked fine in the beta but not the final release

And its only OW that is causing this issue all other games on that pc run fine

All-so noticed she is in beardless eh smile.gif edit border-less window try and run full screen mode

Will run a few things off some will seem strange but its all about process of elimination worth a go at least

What are the temps like while playing CPU & GPU

one thing to try is disable the audio device then try OW

make sure all drivers every driver is upto date

Is there a new motherboard bios

reset default factory settings the mother board bios

disable the dvd drive

can OW be run off line with no net connection if so disable network run OW and test

re seat the gpu long shot but you never know

Other than that it must be the game on her system is there any other uses out there having the same issue with similar spec pc ?

@harney
There are other people with same issues but it does not seem to be related to a specific configurations and the problem seems to only affect a small number of the players.
It also does not seem to be related in any way to how high end or low end your hardware is, as from what i understand even people with newer rigs are experiencing this problem.

There must be pattern then either the same 1 bit of hardware at fault or a net code issue / network card

strange one tbh i would still try some of what i said in my other post worth a go at least

If i had that issue i would start by swapping parts out till i found what the root cause was even down to taking the pc to friends and try there net connection.

With GTX 10XX series cards installed: Latency problems.

With No GTX 10XX series card installed (in my case a HD 7970, GTX 970 or onboard GPU): No latency problems.

smile.gif lol

i was not on about the DPC issue in that post it was re a pc running over watch replying to boxman

I to have tested far too many pc's and 10 series cards as of now as soon as a 10 series go's anywhere near the PCI slot the pc starts a DPC fit

Update i am hounding nvidia i have too as i am getting hounding by clients but get the same generic response's

....
I understand your dilemma but unfortunately there is nothing else we can do here. The issue is a priority and will be fixed and released in a future update. This type of issue cannot be rushed out the door and must be handled with care and released when we are certain it is fixed and does not cause any other issues.

This part worries me ...."This type of issue cannot be rushed out the door"
meaning how long before its fixed?... and that its all-ready been rushed out of the door upon launch with the DPC problem..nvidia more likely knew this but rushed it out of the door biggrin.gif

Well their drivers probably aren't the complexity of a mines game so it does take some time to find the sources of the higher latencies which may not be just one, I guess they will have to optimize their driver which takes time.
But it's still surprising that the same was on older generations and they never fixed it.
Go figure.
