Glad you got it sorted i assumed when you stated you reinstalled fallout that no mods where on otherwise i would have listed that to remove all mods bad on my part really ...
but any how glad its fixed

So this is fixed now? Praise the lord.

Stuck at 1000. Before the driver update it fluctuated a lot more and was up in 1400-1500 ish idle. Done all the typical stuff to try and isolate the issue, pulled out soundcard, NIC etc. Disabled/enabled onboard sound/lan etc.

There is a faster to check it, just disable the 1080 in device manager, and the card uses the standard vesa driver than and suddenly the latency is super low.

The best proof that it is Nvidia, is the fact that the hotfix totaly fixed IDLE latency for me (30us) but the load latency is still not fixed.

Yes that is a quick way ..

but

it still could be an issue with some thing else and does not show even if the nvidia driver hardware is disabled
it only conflicts shows when the nvidia driver hardware is back on if you get me ...

i would still try and ddu again just to make sure then start stripping down also make sure other drivers are upto date
not sure what else to advise really not good either way

Start with disabling all sound devices unplug any unnecessary devices ect

It was HD reworked project. Don't touch that with a ten foot pole.

That is exactly what I wonder as well. As I posted about earlier a friend of mine has these DPC issues with the 970 gtx and has severe macrostutters in overwatch.

Normally stuck at 1000 like that means you are using that program on Windows 8 or higher, which it is incompatible with.
