So like me, your latency went up? Have you tried testing while gaming? My idle DPC latency was never an issue really. I only have problems @ load while gaming and it seems to be isolated to CSGO so far from the games I am playing. Dying Light is fine and so is Thief.

Ignore the very bottom graph, that was from loading in and out of games, my latency went down actually. Both tests were done in game, rise of the tomb raider

This is with the hotfix driver.

There are several warnings at the top of the screen so you should triple check them (especially power management)

I tested my machine under load with furmark and Wticher 3.

When I load witcher 3 latency mon goes nuts for a bit, but during gameplay I saw 25-75us 99% of the time. Running furmark in GPU stress mode with max burn in same thing.

I do disable all forms of power saving though.

I have had it running for ten minutes now while idle surfing:

Latency seems totally fine. Very usable.

I can see a lot of people posting screenshots of their idle latency. If I run latencymon while idling at the desktop, I also get similarly low latency readings. What people should be doing is starting from a cold boot, start up latencymon and leave it running in the background while playing 15 minutes each of a few games. My idle latency is very low, but after a game session or 2 my latency shoots up significantly, and acccording to latencymon, the Nvidia driver and DirectX are the 2 main offenders.

shoots up and stays up or shoots up as in latencymon recorded an odd spike ? they're not at all the same.
the method you're suggesting is not very good either, the best way would be to just launch a game and observe what's happening in latencymon on secondary display as you play. unfortunately I can't do that, I pawned my mx27aq for crack money recently and got only s2716dg left.

It shoots up and stays pretty high with the odd spike while gaming, which manifests in games as momentary hitching in FPS; it is very distracting and it bogs down an otherwise incredibly smooth 120Hz experience. As soon as I stop gaming and go back to desktop, my latency drops back down.

In summary: Low latency readings while idle. High average latency with massive spikes while gaming, caused by 368.95.

I am taking the 1070 out and putting the OG Titan back in until this gets resolved.

Ok

Done some more in depth testing

Yes nvidia have reduced the latency which was good and needed
but there is still issues with 10 series cards

I still have 3 other pc's here and my own

2 have 1060's
1 has a 1080

With running any 10 series card in the same games i get random hitching stutter not very often but is a massive drop in fps for about second

I have re run and tested all pc's with a 980 ti and no stutter or drop in fps solid throughout the test and the dpc is much lower than with and 10 series card installed
i have tried with on /off with gsync
Removed hard drive's run SSD only

but all 3 pc's do the same even my own pc with a 1080 is the same as soon as the 980ti is in its perfect

Going to test with with high performance on the cpu and the gpu see if power management is the problem

But i suspect there is still issues with these 10 series cards

not good really
