Ongoing Pascal latency problems - Hotfix doesn't work for everyone. - Page 76

Look the same benchmark by the same guy on 970

I'm wondering how come no reviewer or publication caught it during their testing/reviews? Or did I miss some articles that did talk about it...

They try to curry favour with nvidia by secretly informing them of issues with their hardware as opposed to the big exposé that you get with AMD issues. Either that or reviewers are just clueless hacks.

Reviewers have not been very thorough about many issues for a long time.

AMD had dramatically worse dx11 CPU performance for 2 years leading to 1.5x lower FPS when CPU bound in a bunch of games and 90% of reviewers still didn't notice. I try to stick to the ones that do pick out things like this such as Digitalfoundry and Techpowerup. Still, stuff like 970 vramgate and dpc slip through the cracks ALL OF THE TIME.

Nobody talked about NVENC this gen in reviews, this is stuff that you really shouldn't have to search for hours to get information about. There should be a page for DPC latency and a page for features such as NVENC in your review, especially if it's 15 pages long.

Gotta attribute this one to incompetence rather than malice, it seems random what slips through and what doesn't.

No, I beg to differ, if this was an AMD issues it would be everywhere, pages and pages of analysis.

they didnt "notice" because their Pascal systems didnt have any stutter or bad frametimes in any games, probably because they're well tuned/bare bones, no bloatware etc. unlike many of the complaining users .. or maybe there are some specific hw or software incompatibilities with Pascal that manifest into problems, which they didnt get either

guru3D did a FCAT review of 1070 & 1080, posted all the frame time graphs and nothing was wrong whatsoever .. if there was it would be seen there

now they probably didnt measure latency with LatMon, but if the latency isnt affecting any performance then there is no reason for them to do that

they probably didnt play any .flac audio either, but thats because their reviews isnt an all around comprehensive review of every level, but rather gaming performance reviews

There have been several major AMD issues like the directx CPU performance that slipped under the rug and didn't get mentioned by 95% of reviewers even though it affected and still affects literally millions of users.

This is a good point. Btw, i've seen too many people with insane DPC latency (2-3k+) with >95% of that coming from nvidia driver alone, so i don't buy the bloatware / bad system excuse - but stutter is a symptom, it's not the problem. You can have the disease without being sick.

Come on.
These things pop up randomly every now and then regardless of manufacturer.

HD5000 series broken AF went completely unnoticed by the reviewers.
Nobody really cared about the last 0,5GB partition on GTX 6XX cards but 970 was a scandal.
AMD frametimes and stuttering
AMD DX11 overhead.
Etc.

Several? So many that you mention the same thing twice in 3 posts...

Cause it's the biggest one by far and still ignored by 90% of the community for no reason.
