Yes this seems to be the case

nvidia spend allot on looking after there reviewer base with free hotels and launch parties ...which i find unfair
it seems AMD do not do this

Even with the hotfix i am still getting random hiccups with any 10 as soon as a 9 6 series or an amd 480 go's in the same pc its fine

I am sure it will be fixed in a driver but this as been going on for over 2 months now and i would have expected more noise than this re news reviewers ect

http://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/NVIDIA-Release-36895-Hotfix-Driver-DPC-Latency

just very light and does not come up in search most of the time

Seem nvidia try and brush under the carpet well carpets with all the other fiascos if this was AMD with the DPC issue it would be plastered everywhere

Async compute related architectural differences have been plastered everywhere for the last 6 months. Really, people pick up on stupid stuff sometimes and care about it 100x too much while ignoring greater problems on both sides.

There are actually quite a few popular forums/places that are AMD favored (i've even been attacked and mass downvoted several times on a few subreddits for showing evidence of certain games running much better on Nvidia due to that driver issue)

I think OCN is more impartial, maybe leaning Nvidia because of the 3:1 + marketshare advantage and some other stuff.

We should keep the topic on DPC latency and driver anyway, that's what the thread is about

Sorry, Chev, but my OS setup is about as clean and bare as it gets. Additionally, I never had this issue on my Titan and I have made ZERO changes to my OS's state since installing the 1070 other than clean installing the new drivers. I am completely OCD about my machine and have tried every tweak imaginable, including testing out clean OS installs and optimising BIOS/UEFI settings down to every last little option.

With each config that I have tested, the 1070 = stutter and hitching; any other GPU (Have tried a Kepler Titan, a 290X and my mate's 980ti.) results in a much smoother experience.

I will be testing a 1070FE tonight (mine is the MSI gaming X) and will let you know how it goes.

Agree with keeping topic that is all i have been doing since being on here like i said in previous posts
this has/is causing me a nightmare with clients pc's on any 10 series card yes the hotfix as helped re idle browsing lag ect but these random hiccups in some games are very annoying ...as soon as any other card is placed in that is not a 10 its fine

Truer words have never been spoken.

The websites thrive on controversy with these stories.

People need to take brand loyalty out of looking at issues. It's the brand loyalty & need to defend attitude that causes these sites to run the stories. The war that follows gets them page hits when the two camps start arguing.

If everyone looked at things rationally and saw the problem that needs to be fixed instead of starting a war denying there really isn't one, we'd see far fewer frivolous stories.

Good example is this thread. Some of us have the issue but no symptoms. Instead of saying there is no problem, we're still saying there is a problem that needs to be fixed because it's causing other users issues.

That's the way it should be.

Of course, we always have exceptions.

Is a cold patch being worked on? Since the hot patch is just a hot patch a quick dirty fix? A proper fix to the issue is needed.

AMD had dramatically worse dx11 CPU performance for 2 years leading to 1.5x lower FPS when CPU bound in a bunch of games and 90% of reviewers still didn't notice. I try to stick to the ones that do pick out things like this such as Digitalfoundry and Techpowerup. Still, stuff like 970 vramgate and dpc slip through the cracks ALL OF THE TIME.

Nobody talked about NVENC this gen in reviews, this is stuff that you really shouldn't have to search for hours to get information about. There should be a page for DPC latency and a page for features such as NVENC in your review, especially if it's 15 pages long.
Gotta attribute this one to incompetence rather than malice, it seems random what slips through and what doesn't.

Reviewers run benchmarks and take photos. They aren't digital detectives.

Now that the latency issue has cleared up, I do notice in my games. If I hadn't read about it here on the forums though, I would have never known there was an issue.

This is exactly the sort of thing that reviewers are supposed to catch. Sure, some people will just test FPS in X Y and Z game.. but why everyone?

Previously cut-down bus vramgate was well known before launch, it was detailed by Nvidia themselves, that's why it didn't cause any outrage. And it wasn't the journalists anyway who noticed it with the 970.

LOL @ didn't cause any outrage. AMD ran a 4GB means 4GB campaign off that mess.
