another one to try is have any browser window open not full screen and not to the side offset if you know what i mean use it and see what happens ...for after a min or so it starts lagging just a little but noticeable

I watched an episode of the walking dead on netflix last night, no problem.

I wonder of something in the bios of certain cards could be causing this.

Or some other common factor. Is everyone with problems using Displayport? My DVI-driving card is fine, even before the hot fix, and it's a G1 which seems to be one of the problem cards.

Could be on to something here, wasn't there a problem with VR support with Pascal over DP that was i believe patched? Could be something with those Displayports causing latency issues, who knows.

That could be the case, but i doubt most reviewers didn't use DP.

It probably (certainly) isn't every DP that is affected, but it's possible that it is only DP that is. Or not - but I'm guessing Nvidia is looking for other commonalities, since it isn't every card that is affected. Must be some combination of factors.

I have no issues whatsoever, but I had some spikes before the hotfix that are rare now unless I knowingly make the system choke. Also, I use the DP.

I've tried four different cards now on Asus Maximus Hero Z87 and Gigabyte Z97X Gaming G1. I'm still using the MSI 1070 Armor until something worthwhile shows up for around $1000, but that's beside the point, I guess. In any case, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a common denominator for those with severe issues....

@harney

Didn't you say that the hotfix fixed your issues when it got released?

Nah, I'm having issues and I'm using DVI.

Everything works just fine for me. I have zero issues with netflix or youtube. I happened to have an android tv I am using with my pc. When I watch using android or using my pc they are entirely identical. No audio skips. No difference at all in performance or quality.

I have tested my latency idle, watching media, and in game. Other than occasional latency spikes due to page faults or when I load something like a game, I never get latency higher than 100us.

I wasn't aware of the problem before I found the fix, and so I didn't test it. Subjectively, my games feel much smoother after the latency fix. When overclocked, playing the witcher 3 at 4k with the highest settings both in game and in the driver (other than AA), and at 4k, I get between 35 fps at the lowest end, and 45 fps nominal high (testing mostly in novigrad). Those settings felt choppy for me before the hotfix. After the hotfix they don't feel choppy at all.

I am not saying that other people are not having issues, but for me, I haven't noticed any problems.

I am using windows 10 with a haswell i5 quad core on a z series chipset. DDR3 memory running at 2000mhz. A sata 3 Samsung 850 ssd drive for both the OS and games. I have had both a 960 and a AMD 7870 installed before. I use onboard audio. Currently using HDMI for video and sound connected to the GPU, but I have had DVI and VGA used before with multiple monitors, including one plugged into the onboard intel graphics VGA.

The websites thrive on controversy with these stories.

People need to take brand loyalty out of looking at issues. It's the brand loyalty & need to defend attitude that causes these sites to run the stories. The war that follows gets them page hits when the two camps start arguing.

If everyone looked at things rationally and saw the problem that needs to be fixed instead of starting a war denying there really isn't one, we'd see far fewer frivolous stories.

Good example is this thread. Some of us have the issue but no symptoms. Instead of saying there is no problem, we're still saying there is a problem that needs to be fixed because it's causing other users issues.

That's the way it should be.

Of course, we always have exceptions.

Finally.......

I also believe that this problem is only a problem if you are suffering a visible issue, latency present but not perceived is not really a problem.....
