[Engadget] Warner Bros. paid YouTubers for positive game reviews. - Page 3

Pewdiepie is a joke for sure. But he is the king of them all I guess lol...

Youtube or not, unless the source is an established one, I don't trust it. Example: I'll trust videos posted by Neil Degrasse Tyson, the Royal Institute, NASA, etc. but random video by Butterscotch123 about "Planet X approaching earth" gets zero trust.

I don't trust any of them. Well, I don't not trust them either. I don't judge a game based on what some random youtube person screaming profanities tells me. I usually just watch twitch steams and gameplay videos to see if it's something I would like.

Every once and awhile, I will take a game into consideration when a podcast or two talks about it and gives it lots of praise (primarily Jeff Gerstmann from Giantbomb).

You can't trust any youtuber to be 100% on the up.

Also, if a youtuber gives a game positive reviews then their viewers go into the game with a positive mindset. They'll likely enjoy the game more and agree with the youtubers review. Same thing if it were negative. Their viewers go into the game with a negative mindset and they dislike it. The youtuber was correct.

IMO with refunds available the best way to review a game is to try it out. If you don't like it then refund it. Try not to let youtubers influence your opinion of things too much in the process.

But I loved Bastion, it was legitimately a great game, one of the best I've played actually... and then I wonder why they have to make bad games and try and fix the reviews? Just make more good games for goodness sake.
It was a terrible, mindless, no creativity classic generic AAA title. No wonder they needed to do this.

Just say something good about a Warner Bros game on youtube for money? Tempting

They don't have your trust with the cliche, "What's up guys" line at the beginning of every video?

BlueDrake42 is freaking hilarious and the only gaming YouTuber I trust. Total Biscuit is also a sincere review I guess, I would say that I trust him as well. The rest is pretty much scum.

Are you referring to Levelcaps intro? Yeah, he didnt disclose his agreement with EA either while doing a BF4 review. I believe Jackfrags got grilled because of it. Interesting how one gets a pass and the other gets crucified. Justified or not.
