Sarcasm?

I can think of some DX9 games that ran like garbage without multiple patches. Games like star wars empire at war having serious memory leaks causing slowdowns, or blitzkreig constantly crashing due to different bugs.

I'm still sitting here thinking, mafia 3 is a AAA title? I've never heard of mafia 1 or 2 and this is the first I've heard of mafia 3. Lol

Listen to the developers, they complain about DX12 being far more complicated and timeconsuming.

There has been many titles so far with worse performance in DX12 than DX11, both on AMD and Nvidia cards.

DX11 being easier might actually have been the problem. If something is easy you just do it without thinking and move on, with very low investment in that area from the publisher, and we get Arkham Knight. With DX12 you have to at least sort-of figure it out or it doesn't work at all, and once you actually put someone on the task they end up doing a reasonable job.

It might be after there are too many easy "click here to make DX12 code" that we will start to get badly optimized DX12 games.

I was talking about Arkham City DX11 vs DX9. DX9 ran like a dream compared to the DX11 version. That was my only point.

OOOHHH. Well that makes more sense.

Not sure how much of that is DX9 vs DX11 VS warner brothers just being an awful PC publisher though.

Can you link a few interviews where devs have said that working with DX12 is complicated or time consuming or both. Seems it would be counter productive to what MS wants to achieve that is adoption of W10 and DX12 is just another strong incentive. Complicating it would lead to devs abandoning it for others

Indeed, still loved the game regardless.

As for the information well... it's scattered all over the place, don't feel like hunting a bunch of it down and condensing it here. There's speculation on it even outside of AMD and Nvidia such as TSMC's 16nm iPhone 6S and 6S+ SoCs vs Samsung's 14nm LPE process. The consensus is TSMC just have a more efficient/superior process currently. Of course AMD could of also just dropped the ball with Polaris too..

But i think the fact that AMD are using TSMC for their high performance chips is telling.
Does that mean that the RX 485 will simply be the RX 480 on TSMC?
