I'm not sure how a 3GB gtx 1060 at $250 could be a better deal...

Edit: I'm guessing it's a 6GB only card now?

I don't think you can compare them with a $100 price delta.

I think people seem to forget the world is a completely different place from when it was back then. Now people will gladly give up a few FPS to save $50-100. No doubt the GTX1060 maybe a better value but this go around AMD will win simply on units moved. I better the RX cards will be the "New Gaming" cards that will be all the rage in OEMs like dell and HP. $99-150 card which they will being getting at a discount on top of that and marking it up still $40-60 from MSRP. Gotta love capitalism.thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif

honestly, if it maxes out LoL or other mobas on 1080p for under $100, it'll be a hit.

The real DX12 war will begin next year between Vega and Volta.

But people really don't care about much of older games, where NVidia shines. They are looking forward at BF1 & Doom style games bro..

Specially in this price range, perfect for a HTPC, etc.

How can I be so blind. The 470 seems to be the same core configuration as the 7970/280X/380X (2048/128/32). So, if the 380X has a clockspeed of 950Mhz and the 470 at a clockspeed of 1250Mhz (which is obviously achievable) and we count a 92,5% scaling, we have a 31,58% increase in clockspeed and 21,71% inprovement in performance. 85% of the 480 taking the numbers from TPU. This is w/o arch improvements. Obviously, the 470 won't have that clockspeed, it will be underclocked to achieve better power consumption. At 1350Mhz, a very reasonable OC, the 470 will be the 93% of the 480. This is at 1080p. As the 380X showed, the reduced bus dind't imply a worse performance in 1440p compared to the 280X, so at 1250Mhz, the 470 is the 88,85% of the 480 and at 1350Mhz is the 96,84% of the 480. As we can see, a nice cooler and a 8 pin connector on the 470 and let's begin the party. This is asuming the 470 is reaching the 480 clocks, which is highly probable, but not start the hype yet. The most important thing is confirm the 2048 cores, the 128 texture units and the untouched (hopefully) 32 rasterizers.

Same shader count as 380x + 24% higher clock. I don't see how it would be = 380x. That would be a fail. I'm thinking around reference r9 290 performance.

The 460 i see as maybe between r9 270-270x.

Wow that's amazing! The RX 470 is going to be a great card for $149!

If the 470 comes with 1Ghz of core clock, it can be marginally faster than a 380X, and as AMD say, the 470 is the card that suits the 2,7x improvement in performance per watt. So, as GCN likes the low clockspeeds to remain very efficient, I can see it. Barely better than 380X at stock, the ceiling is unclear, but I say that will be very easy to get 480 7Ghz performance, but ONLY IF THE SPECS ARE 2048/128/32.

I hope so, if it delivers, I will replace my 7770, and my 5820k will be a little bit more stressed tongue.gif

Clocks for 470 are said to be 1206mhz. 380x is 970mhz or something. Throw the 2.7x performance/watt away. Don't use marketing metrics like that as a basis for comparison.
