Dual Display Setup – Two Different Resolution Sizes One with Touch Causing all Sorts of Issues.

Hey/hey,

I finally got around to hooking up my Asus 19” touch screen to my couch gaming setup, and the prospects of what I had going on were awesome.

I have not quite come to terms yet that the capabilities of what I think the setup will do may not be achievable, and I am holding onto them with the tips of my fingers, FIRMLY!

I am running Crossfires R9 290s.

My 55” TV is running off the HDMI port @ 1080p 1920 × 1080, also pass threw a receiver.
My 19” Touch is running off the display port @ 1600 × 900.

Now, how I would like it to work would be as follows:

All Chat, Tweaks, settings and game launchers would open to the 19” monitor.
All Games, Streaming and Media application would load to the 55” LED TV.

How stuff is currently operating:

All games when launch go to the main display by default, unless the option is configurable in the Game's setting Menu. I have downloaded and installed a third party program to manage application launching and it give the ability to determine which display they run when opened.

*DisplayFusion

Only problem is all games when launch, still open at 1600 x 900 then displayfusion throws it to the 1920 x1080 Screen. When that happens the resolution stays at 1600 x 900 and will not adjust, rather when I selected 1920 x 1080 in the games menu the display is way over-scanned. I also can't get the game to launch in full screen mode will default back to windowed, and window boarderless is all out of wack as well

The reason I need to make the 19” the main display is the touch screen function does not work if it is secondary; further more the touch screen when touched sends the touch command the to the main display being the 55”. I am keen on the touch screen maintaining the function because I am a controller user, and often put my keyboard out of reach.

Has anyone tried to sort out a similar setup? Have a work around? Another program perhaps?

I am also trying to make it Mac user/Girlfriend friendly.

Go to Control Panel > TabletPC > calibration and you can choose which monitor the touch works for. (so the touch doesnt need to be main monitor)
Then you should be able to set the TV as main display, and games should open to 1920x1080
