This game is AMAZING for being in pre alpha. Its free to play and will take time to master.
If your really competitive and enjoy mastering FPS games then this game is for you.
Arena shooters require fast twitch skills, and controlled fasted paced movement.
If you are new to FPS then this is the place to start. It has a large verity of weapons all of which require different types of skill. If you get good at this game you should be able to demolish any FPS game. https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/#splash
I saw this on WarOwl's channel, I used to really love unreal tournament back in the day. TBH I'd pay $30 for it as is right now, it already looks (mostly) finished.
Useless. Anyone remember that taunt from the npc bot players back in the original? Maybe they still have it in the pre alpha. I haven't downloaded it yet. The first time I heard it I took it personally. Then I realized there were no real players on at the time and I wasn't even in a real player session. Just one of those training type missions in UT. So it was just coming from a bot.
But I wondered if the developers were targeting me through the bots with that insult. A silly notion which I soon dismissed. It was the first online multiplayer game ever for me so I didn't know what to make of it at first at the time (in 2000).
I've wanted to try this game for awhile now. Isn't the engine UE4? It looks like its a fun game if you've got <20minutes to play so I might pick it up to try out...
Is it bad that I yearn for a single player experience with this game? I loved the campaign mode in UT2k4. We shan't discuss UT3 because the campaign was broken beyond belief.

Yes it was, I found no option to save the game anywhere, and it wasn't autosaving either, so if I wanted to play the campaign I'd have to play it ALL in one sitting because if I stopped the game it would knock me back down to the bottom of the tier when I restarted. Absolutely infuriating, and I remember them coming out with a few patches and me expecting it to get fixed but it never did, at least not for me.
Played a quick battle. For some reason my system black screened and I had to hard reset on my 1st try...strange. But anywho. My 2nd go around I went 17-2... Pretty easy fighting these noobs...lol
Pretty fun game!!! I like it alot! Just wish they had more of a stats page and a rank system sort of like BF series....But who knows. It's supposedly Alpha stage.
Holy cow... I played on lunch and yes, it does put other players together based on rank, which is kind if genius but difficult. I think I'm rank 3... odd that you have to compete a whole game for it to count against your stats...but anywho.... much more difficult!
Problem is when you move above that beginner rank the beginner matches become locked. It's a smart idea but it has it's draw backs. If you can't find any unlocked matches you'll have to start your own. Just needs to be a bigger player base, imo
Never played quake so I can't compare but it's just the next iteration of the series. It still has that addicting fun element to it. Bugs are still being worked out and suggestions are being taken from the community, the process is slow though.. a new build almost every month to month and a half
