Just had 2 shutdowns with my Sapphire RX 480 8GB (reference card). One was while playing the open beta of Battlefield 1, the other one while literally after playing Dark Souls III (After I've quit the game). I've noticed things were slowing down until it shut down. Anyone else having the same problem?

***Edit: The driver version was 16.300.2511.1001 when it happened. I've just updated to 16.300.2511.1003. Will test tomorrow after sleeping.

I"ve had the memory clocks get stuck below max speed slowing the system down with the 16.8.2 driver. I haven't tried the 16.8.3 driver yet. uninstalling the 16.8.2 driver, doing a ddu from safemode and reinstalling it gave me my performance back. But it's gotten stuck once since then. A cold boot was sufficient that time. The drivers are a bit buggy I think. Every time it's happened to me I've been running monitoring software like HWiNFO64. Could be related. Were you? I haven't had lockups related to my slow downs, but I've occasionally found the gpu utilization stuck at 100%.at the desktop. Again a cold boot was necessary. After only a warm boot, the problem was persistent and annoying.

Please report all your driver issues at: http://www.amd.com/report
So they can actually know and fix the bugs smile.gif

Thank you. There also seems to be an actual switch to downwclock the card as well? I need to look into it. I'm only playing low demanding fighting games right now and if i can further lower the power draw (main reason i picked up the card) without sacrificing too much performance, i'm willing to do it. I love how the power connector is on the side of the card rather than top as well.

Hold on. That's all it does? So it won't affect 3D performance?

In some low end games it may throttle in game AFAIK. Other than that, I dont think it changes much.

RX 470/480 stock seem to be leveling in the U.S. the week AFTER i get mine. Ugh. Question: I play some low demanding games @ 4K, does the 8 gigs of memory help? My previous card was a Fury.
