okay. I got the 2nd rx480 today. I disconnected the other one and pulled it from the slot. It's still in the loop just not connected to the computer. i get the exact same issue with Just Cause3 and Rise Of the Tomb Raider dx12. I haven't reloaded the drivers on the replacement card yet but I did reset wattman. I'm going to have to put the asus rx480 into another computer and see if the issues follow the computer I guess. Ack. AMD may have been wrong when they said it's not a driver issue. The same blocky solid color block appears over map items sometimes so you can't pick objectives. Here's the often posted screen shot. Anyone else getting this?
I get a square of corrupted video in the bottom left if I enable smaa2 and dx12 and hbao+ in Rise Of the Tomb Raider. AMD said there's no issue, but GekoTDF had the same issue. I also get weird flashes and black flashes tearing parts of the video if I do dx12 at all in Rise of the Tomb Raider. It's worst in Geothermal Valley. I had the exact same black flashes and corruption in DX12 mode of the battlefield One beta. and in the DX12 beta mode of Deus Ex Mankind Divided. DX12 in Quantum Break ran fine.
My 2nd card also has a weird thing where the video blanks a few seconds after the login screen appears before I click on the time and comes back again a half second later. I haven't had a card in the 2nd x16 slot before on this motherboard so maybe it's something hinky there. It does that even with the video driver uninstalled. The first card never did that. I'll try the card in another computer and see. Maybe it's my computer. It's been formated once since I got the first card and the game problems persisted. I don't think it's my load of windows. I'll have to load steam and ROTR on my other computer, as it's a work system. I just did a DDU and I'm about to load the WHQL 16.9.1. I had the non-WHQL 16.9.1 loaded before.
Anyone else seeing my game issues?
