Here's the shimmering in the water I get with DX11 HBAO+ and FXAA. I guess it happens on my other system too.

The Just Cause 3 issue is just this pc. It doesn't happen upstairs.

What do you mean by shimmering in water? How would you want it to look? A perfect mirror without any scratches? Seems normal to me that wet surfaces have many different reflect angles. Other than that most modern games are so buggy and full of glitches it's hard to find one without any. I even found my monitor bit depth is the culprit for one of the things I found when testing new GPU.

Here's the flashing I get in dx12. I also get it once in a long while in dx11 rotr if I go with SSAA2x there. In DX12 it takes about 30 min to start showing up and mainly does in Geothermal Valley. The same flashing occurs in Battlefield One beta but only in DX12 mode. I had this happen once in the Valley benchmark but only after a failed overclock. After it happened in Valley my max overclock was never the same. I lost 25 or 35 mhz on my memory overclock.

This was taken on stock settings. on 16.9.1 whql. 9-13 driver. I'd had the same thing with every driver version.

edit: This was dx11 ssaa2x and hbao+ It happens more frequently on DX12 FSAA HBAO+ Motion blur was off for both videos. Just because not for any technical reason. I normally have it on and it happens too.

Can't find wattman in AMD app...

Crimson has been trouble free for me so far.  I always scrub old drivers with DDU in safe mode, reboot, use CCleaner for a registry cleaning, reboot, install drivers.

+rep btw.

No sir I do not.

My PC with 290 is running 16.7.2 BTW...just noticed that.  I'm going to try updating to 16.7.3 to see if it fixes it as the issue is nowhere near as severe with the 290.

Then I'll swap my Fury X in and see if the problem persists with Fiji.

In other places it's in foilage tool. It's not in the actual water. Only where stone is visible on the the edges and only when the character moves. It looks like digital noise not like shimmering water. I get the same thing sometimes in the grass but only in Geothermal valley. It looks fine on other maps.

What's up guys and gals, Decided I should start following this thread since I got my Rx 470 Nitro 8Gb installed and running well. Quick question though, anyone else experiencing this much power draw, or is this just an error in trixx? I've also noticed according to HWinfo, my one VRM temp is way high, like 100c high, after a few hours of gaming, and I'm completely stock.

That's a pretty high max power draw. I don't use your monitoring software, I use gpuz which seems closest to what I measure with a killawatt. With GPU-Z even with a max oc I've never hit 320watts more like 295 was the max I've seen in GPUz and that's a 480x with a custom bios with a ~250 watt limit. killawatt had me at 320watt once but again that was very special circumstances. Unlocked powerlimit, farcry 4 and specific settings. Even in Firestrike Ultra at 1435 my 480 does't measure that high in GPU-Z.

On a side note the flashing shown above I did some testing and by turning anistropic filtering to tr-linear it never happens. Also I get enough of a performance bump that I can run 2k with a 60fps average with a few compromises. How would anistropic filtering produce those flashes? I know there was some chromatic elements to them, but I'm not sure how that would work.

I just updated GPUz, it wasn't showing me anything before, I thought I had already updated it, I'll check it on there see what happens. Deff seemed odd to me, and obviously it was just a spike and not consistent (due to the avg being so low), but since I'm fully stock it seemed odd.

Also noticed my VRM temps (according to HWinfo64) were getting very high also.

Averaged at 84 FPS. I was just generally curious how new drivers worked for ROTR, since plenty of people did report better performance but nobody bothered to back it up by actual values.

Ok, finally managed to run the bench, Very High preset, all checkboxes on, 1080p SMAA (only Textures is High instead of Very High because otherwise it needs more than 4Gb RAM) - 61 FPS AVG across all 3 tests.
First: 73 FPS AVG; Second: 58 FPS AVG; Third: 51 FPS AVG.

EDIT: For comparison, with my custom config (AA, DOF, MotionBlur, VignetteBlur, FilmGrain - OFF; Dynamic foliage - Medium; SSAO - ON; Textures, LOD - High) gives almost the same visual quality, and 76 FPS AVG.

You should try it, especially dynamic foliage looks the same between medium and high, and has some FPS impact.

Thanks for delivering. What set of drivers? OC? I feel like result is pretty decent, considering that you're not that far from Roboyto's result with OCd 480.
