Overclock? It's no longer possible at that timing, game instantaneously hard lock. Framerate in 3DMark Fire Strike is basically the same on 2000MHz with 1500MHz timing and 2250MHz clock at stock timing.

That's too bad, but thanks for trying and satisfying my curiosity. Looks like for 2000mhz you're just better off with overclocking instead of risking lock ups

Found a MSI Radeon RX 480 8 GB Gaming X for 250 USD, I'm pouncing for Ethereum mining purposes. But how's CrossFire on these 480s?

For gaming? HIgher the res, better the scaling: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/RX_480_CrossFire/19.html

I believe he meant MSI's particular model. Perhaps from cooling standpoint? Sonikku13 pls clarify smile.gif

Curious question, what clocks do you need to run on a warranty valid 480 8GB, say Sapphire Nitro, to reach close to 15,000 graphics score in Firestrike? No cheats allowed such as tessellation forced off in driver or other hacks that change the visual quality.
I can't find such high results here.

If not easily doable on a warranty valid card, then someone with a watercooled or otherwise moded card what clocks do you need to run to reach the score?

And lastly what is the average and peak wattage reported by the card? +-5W, say 150-160W average, 170-180W peak as an example.

Good luck, be interested to see benchmarks @230gb/s or higher and how they compare to a 290x/390x with a decent clock. Hitting the 240gb/s mark should help alot with bandwidth limitations @1400mhz core

Wish I could run 1400mhz daily but my 81% asic wants 1.2v+ and more current than my VRMs can handle. Assuming my 4 phases are equal to or better than reference max is 215-240a and @1.2v I'm measuring beyond that so I can only do it for short bursts. My chip can do it, my VRMs hit 110c and get super stressed
