But what ever it is i love my rx 480 now with the prolima Mk13 i find it supercheap for 20 bucks in your currency this GPU is realy bang for the buck glad i bought the refference one

I can even put it in passife cooling mode on and it still cool enough (GpU 45 idle load at 79) Vrm is concerning though

So i spotted an enzotech heatsink will be this good enough? I see the screw hole preety identical with the RX 480 refference PCB. Anyone can confirm?

Sorry for the delay. I have gotten home quite late over the last few days.

Here are a couple of CPUz screenshots while running Firestrike:

GPU1 (top card):

GPU2 (Bottom Card):

Those are all maximum readings during a Fire Strike run. That's a pretty big power difference between the top and bottom cards. The bottom card is getting higher voltage Vddc than the top card. I have no idea why. I have not changed any settings from default. Notice as well that the higher power card has an approximately equal temperature, yet it has a fan speed of about half the other card. This really doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

One last note here, I did a gpu driver update today and it seems like Furmark is no longer seeing my second card. I ran a log during a Heaven benchmark and the log showed nothing for the second card. I have a bad feeling this "update" screwed my system somehow. I tried reinstalling Furmark with a couple of reboots, and made sure I was running it fullscreen, but nothing seems to affect the fact it only shows one GPU. Something screwy going on....

GPUZs power reading is actually pretty off most of the time, and what are the differences in ASIC value? Looks to me like you just have one high and one low leakage card which would mean those numbers make complete sense as one will use less voltage and one more same with power draw. I would say use HWinfo vs GPUZ also

Thank you for your information. I just realized that each manufacturer put different power draw on GPU-Z. The only thing that is same for power reading is HWInfo VRM readings. So, I think your Gaming Xs are normal. I don't know about that voltage tho.

So I would say for Sapphire Nitro owners, set the logo color in trixx then just uninstall it. It doesnt play well with wattman and constantly resets settings in wattman. If you need a custom fan curve then install afterburner as it doesnt have this same issue and works well with wattman

The VDDC difference is normal, one of my 470s defaults at 1150, the other - 1175. They are identical cards.

It looks like it actually belongs to a RX 480, but could also be some generic picture. It matches full PCB images from legitreviews:

That would be IR3551 power stages.

But their review states:

Our Sapphire Nitro Radeon RX 480 4GB video card is based on a pre-production design. We know this as it has a 6-phase power system for the GPU and we have been told by Sapphire that the retail cards will only have a 5-phase power system. One of the phases is supposedly disabled in the vBIOS, but we don’t know how to check that and if this will impact our power numbers or overclocking results.

Well

I got my RX-480 today. Turns out my R9-290 didn't die. I just melted my pci-e cable at the psu. Which is why my system stopped posting giving the d6 code aka no video card.

After I replaced the cable with another one, and moved to a different pci-e connector all was fine. Disappointed in my Seasonic X-850 PSU since this is the second time I had this failure.

So far based on the few benchmarks I've done the RX-480 is slower than a r9-290 both at stock. Now to decide which card to keep, leaning towards the 290, since I have a waterblock for it.
