He got a low leakage card that as a results runs cool and clocks like mad.

There is way too big variance in the 14, 16nm processes.
Maybe AMD will use the P10 as a stop gap only for a year and then launch a smaller Vega to replace it in 2017 on a better process.
And what about buyers,i own a 480,with 150 watt tdp,im gonna sell the card?amd sold vgas with 150 watt, and now anounce vgas with 100watt?

Kinda like the GTS 8800 320, GTX 8800 512 and GTS 8800 768 smile.gif No reason not to integrate progress into current lineup.

My RX 480 Gaming X clocks down to 300 Mhz on the memory when idle. Though if you're overclocking, you may have disabled some power saving.

We do not talk about memory,i see 150 watt,70+degrees and low oc than xfx with newer pcb....

you think that alone can make such a big difference? 20 degree Celsius difference is really a lot

If i dont tighten it more, i have too less pressure.

Put more thermal tape/pad maybe?

That is called manufacturing variance. The TDP they list is the theoretical maximum, better quality chips can come in way below that if they are properly configured with lower voltages.

Also, GF does some things a bit different as far as using feedback from one run of chips to the next to optimize their process. Because of this the initial runs tend to be hot and power hungry and as time goes on voltages drop and clocks go up a bit due to the corrective actions taken.

Ok, so the past few days, since the last driver update, I've been getting black screens when I turn my monitor back on, and I have to restart. When I get home from work, when I wake up. It's insanely annoying. How do I roll the drivers back? Last time I tried it just installed the newest driver anyway.
