Hey guess what

This card is badass

MSI RX480 GX 8G FTW

If you're wondering about my case setup, here's a pic. Positive pressure all the way.
2x 140mm, 2x 120mm, all intake. The power supply is isolated; it draws air from underneath and exhausts out the back:

EDIT: Waait, no, take a very close look at that photo - there are 6 pads, but only 4 look deformed from being pressed to a chip, 2 look intact, like brand new. Perhaps that explains it?

Nitro uses 5 ir3551 on 480, 4 on the 470. The pre-production units had 6 phases on the 480 bit they cut it down
They do 50a up to 125c and are combined high/low side power stages

I usually aim for net zero pressure (equal intake/exhaust fans). And I have not had any cooling issues, even with a passive CPU heat sink + decent CPU OC.

I've swapped the cable 3 times and used alcohol on the connection and nothing has helped. I do not want to send this care back
It's the DP cable. I would change it for the Accell cables.

Gotcha. My case has so many openings I figured I'd push as much cold air as possible and let it find its own way out thumb.gif

More fans/air =/= better cooling /good flow. Refer to the air cooling subforum for info on how to properly set it up

That said I do 3 intake/2 exhausts on my define r5 using higher pressure phanteks in front/bottom with the stock fans in back/back top

Yep. I have an Antec 900 with two 120mm intakes up front and 120mm(rear)+140mm(top) exhaust. The CPU cooler is a Scythe Ninja 3 and the exhaust fans pull air over the heatsink so that it does not need fans of its own. As a bonus the hottest air (from the CPU heatsink) gets pulled directly out of the case.

The air cooling sub forum is def the place to go if you are looking for air cooling tips.

I'm curious to know if anyone else is experiencing 90+ degree temps on their VRM1. Nitro 470's or any other card at all? I know that it can handle the temps, I'm just wondering why. Maybe my 89% ASIC?
