My Nitro 470 works really well for me. The only thing that's bugging me is my high VRM1 temp, and the fact that I noticed it not running at full clock during games or benchmarking. Seems to clock back to 1169 (from 1260) for no apparent reason. Happens before the temps get up, and happens when they're high, doesn't seem to be related to any sort of thermal throttling, especially since the VRMs on the nitro cards are supposed to be good to 120C or higher. I think while I'm still under warranty (supposedly) I'll try to send it back for a replacement, and may pay the extra few bucks to get the 480 8gb card back instead.

Thoughts? Looking over my logs I highligted all relevant info and circled the areas where it downclocks. It's looking like I'm hitting the max draw at 130w? Is that what's happening? Something tells me at stock everything that shouldn't be happening.

Green Column is my GPU thermal probe temp
Orange Column is my GPU clock
Column to the left of the clock is the total GPU power draw
Orange TEXT is my Memory Clock
Grey Column is Utilization
Red Columns are VRM 1 temp on the left and VRM 2 temps on the right. I circled the "issue areas"

How do you even change the VRAM Voltage? Also that's really weird that you're getting memory errors on 2100mhz already.

Perhaps it is software issue, I'm using 6.1.0 beta. I already uninstall sapphire trixx right now.

Is 89C is to hot for vrm? My sapphire nitro 470 is about 86C when playing game, and on crysis 3 very high setting it reach 96C.
If it to hot, what temperature is considering normal for 470?

My VRM1 has hit 100C one time, but usually only peaks at 94C. I don't KNOW what's too hot for them unfortunately, I can't seem to find a solid answer, like I've mentioned, I think a youtuber mentioned the VRMs are capable of 125C or something like that, but most people report a max of around 80ish so I was just curious. My clocks shouldn't be fluctuating, however, that much I know.

Just as I expected few pages back. If you want to tinker further with it, reset it to stock, +50% power limit, undervolt core and mem as far down as she goes, set states 3 to 7 to boost clock, check for throttles (there shouldn't be any), and OC from there, all states together, raise clock and voltage until she starts to throttle again.

Reference VRM parts are good to 125c.

Looks like you are hitting watt/amp limit on the GPU VRM. RX 470 with stock BIOS maxes out at ~130w average and ~150w peak power usage with +50% power limit. Your voltages are way too high too. 1266 should not require over 1.075v(1075mv) and I am seeing 1.150v(1150mv). Of course that is assuming BC is voltage, BD is Amps, and BE is wattage.

The components on the PCB that surrounds them aren't tho. And these cards love low temps.

One thing I've noticed different between Gaming X and Nitro+ OC is that the latter randomly reports increased voltage on the core. I have it set to 1.05V, but after leaving hwinfo running overnight I found the maximum to be 1.15V one time and 1.238V the other. Doesn't seem to happen while in use, only when idling. I didn't notice anything of the like on the MSI card.
