I found this image uploaded by The Stilt:

My Reference RX 480 is almost 90mv lower at the end of the curve (1043 mV stock, or 1020 mV undervolted) or alternatively 80 Mhz further to the right (1340 Mhz @ 1100 mv). Many review samples even use 1150 mV for 1266 Mhz. The average seems to be 1110 mv (each minor line is 40 mV). If power scales with voltage squared, then even an average chip would only consume (1110/1150)^2 = 93% power compared to (bad) review samples, while my own sample uses (1043/1150)^2 = 82% (stock). That is some massive spread. When the power target is active this could result in 10% or more performance differences.

I collected some data from reviews rx480ocdata.pdf 46k .pdf file , but it would be interesting, if all RX 480 owners could post their stock voltage distribution. There appears to be a approx. 1 mV/Mhz slope independent of ASIC quality. So far i have not seen a sample with lower stock voltage than mine. Lower undervolts (1266 Mhz @ 1000 mV) seem possible.

Computerbase.de has the RX 480 with max PT overall 6% faster than stock at 1440p. Thats right where they later testet the GTX 1060 FE. I can not reproduce their benchmarks, but there is a good chance that my RX 480 with 1043 mV max voltage has the same performance at stock settings.

My RX 480 was at 1125mv at stock. Trying to undervolt it but couldn't get it lower than 1045mv

That's a decent undervolt. Don't tell me you were expecting under 1000mv? smile.gif

With the ref cooler on I could do 1266@1020mV and 1300@1070mV and 1330@1125

Mine is 1056mV stock. Currently running at 1300@1045mV and 15% power limit increase to prevent power throttling.
As i said, mine was at 1043 mV stock. I was able to play Witcher 3 with 1266Mhz/1020mV, 1300Mhz/1055mV, 1325Mhz/1080mV and 1340Mhz/1100mV at 1080p with max details (no hairworks) all stable over several days (finished the whole game since i got my RX 480). Firestrike and TimeSpy also stable. Memory is at 2100Mhz/975mV.

Yesterday i started ROTTR and it crashed after a few minutes. I had the PT at +15%, so it was throttling around 1300 Mhz. Either the lower powerstates were not stable, which is strange because i already used them without problems as highest state without throttling (not in ROTTR) or ROTTR requires more voltage than anything i tested so far. I will try to OC without undervolting the lower states. Unfortunately, this will reduce effective clocks while the PT is active.

This looks really nice, if stable. What games are you running with this setting?

Its stable with everything I tried. The only time when I saw it downclocking is when running furmark.
Before I was running it at 1300@1035mV but then found out that it would crash in one or two games that I tested.
GPU-Z is showing asic quality of 88.3

What temps are you getting, guys (and at how much fan speed)? I want to know how much the undervolt helps.
