Unless you want to have a bad time...

You do a lot of farting around claiming how ASUS sucks, even though lots of people and stores have had little to few problems with them. How about some facts to back up your innuendos? I have been selling ASUS for as long as they have been popular with no more issues than any other brand. All we get from you is statements saying it's a bad brand with nothing to back it up. If I go into other threads I will have no problem mentioning those brands, as I never have. I have seen a lot of hardware in my 30ish years in computers, and some sucky brands, but ASUS is definitely not one of them.

In fact, I like my ASUS Sabertooth Z87 so much that ASUS will definitely be at the top of my list when it comes time to replace it.

Asus has yet to fail me. Would have gotten a Strix card, but they were super expensive when I bought this Nitro. Only one Asus motherboard has crapped on me, and that was a budget board and mostly my fault (pushed to hard on the OC). The previous video card I had was Asus and it has lasted more than most of my previous cards (and I always punish my video cards).
They will always be one of my top go-to brands.

- usb 3.0 ports on my motherboard don't work properly; specification non-compliance
- audio doesn't work properly either; very dodgy implementation
- my 7970DCIIT never worked correctly; VRM's are defective, sent it back to them twice and they never fixed it, it also has a fan rattle and the coils can actually whine slightly under stress
- flagship ASUS router crashes on occasion, very frequently when using the GUI
- 3 laptops that are very nasty overall, one even has a defective keyboard and you have to bend and twist the body of the laptop to get it working, the fact that you can actually bend it is bad enough

That's just my experiences, but the worst thing about ASUS is they don't care about their customers at all, if you so happen to get a defective device they will not repair or replace it, they'll just keep sending you round in circles for no reason but just for them to save money.

If you really think ASUS is great then go through the official 290/X thread, ROG forums and ASUS service ratings.

I agree.
Asus is a nice mainstream brand for almost their products, but to get something really good u need to pay the price, sometimes more than what u should.
Performance/oc wise it is not always the best, since generally asus prefer a banlanced performance/oc instead really going to the top, top is reserved to the ROG stuff.
If u are a mainstream user that look for RGB mobo it is ok, if u are a real enthusiast, i mean real clocker, u will get decided by asus especially on mainstream products.
U feel it maybe less on vga side because because the only thing u can do it is plug in and oc the card. But again even some asus vga were bad like said paul.
And again their customer service is not so good, except if u go on high quality stuff like ROG.
So imo if i look for the best performances and overclock, asus is not my 1st choice.

MSI seems to be overall favorite (various places online). Also personally having one can say it's awesome. Running Fo4 maxed out and never see it hit above 65 on stock settings.

Lots of negative experience with Asus products here too. There are a few gems in with all of that, sure, but overall it has been fairly negative (at least with their consumer level gear). Their server equipment has been top notch though.

I've only had a few bad experiences with MSI products, mainly just their motherboards. But that was only two models out of 5 or so I have owned or tracked over the years.

The company I am most hesitant about purchasing anymore is Gigabyte. Got bit pretty hard on a bulk order with no resolution from the company. Mainly came down to dodgey firmware and non-compliant motherboard design when DDR3 first launched.
