Nice result! smile.gif
I will order too some pads, seems everybody get a huge t° gain with good pads + thermal paste.
Almost 15/20° on vrm translate in a better power efficiency and consumption.

My RX480 at 1.168V does 1400Mhz stable and about 71C in average. I have the vents at 45%. It could be that your 470 is a little hotter? Even the VRMs doesn't hit that much :/

Also, if a good thermal paste achieves great core temps, it will be great. Waiting for results! thumb.gif

Exactly, I want to see can it be used with stock nitro cooler. So you are using liquid metal paste now or metal pads?

After some gaming and not stress test or benches, the results are much better. I started at +24mV, but +18mV seems stable, so 1.168V (I don't know why HWMonitor says 1.2V, it must be some spike). I have to try +12mV. The memory gives me errors at 2150Mhz, so 2125Mhz is what I can get without them (probably something between 2150 and 2125 is the max, but who cares). Batman Arkham Knight 1440p:

Neither

Using Alphacool 11w/mk pads and Cryorig CP7 thermal paste

My Powercolor 470 Red Devil 4gb came with Samsung memory chips according to GPUz.

For now, I'm stable up to 2180. Must be the relaxed timings of the 470 that lets me get higher memory clocks than most people with the 480 cards.

Happy New Year All!

I bought 2 MSI RX 480 8G (with crimson16.12.2 relive) on CF configuration but I am getting too much micro-stutter on Battlefield 1, it is running on (i7-4790K @4.5GHz, Asus Maximus 7 Hero, 16GB 2400mhz, CPU cooler is a "be quiet Dark Rock Pro 3" while gaming CPU only around 45-55degres.
I am using the MSI gaming app to OC the cade to gaming mode at 1303Mhz.

And even on Assassins creed 3 recently free from Uplay, the gameplay is not smooth.
Currently my CF is disabled.

Is anybody else having CF issues with RX480?

Thanks,
Jon

out of curiosity i decided to reseat the cooler and got the improved VRM temps with my original core temps. Turns out one of the screws mounting the sink near the core was funny so i replaced it with a different one and all is good.
