Not calling you a liar, just calling into question the validity of what the driver is reporting.

It was not my run but a post I came across yesterday and got me thinking even if ( knowing it is not stable) what actual head room do we really have. I was able to hit 1500 yesterday on my core after various mods with the bios and stuff, no it was not stable but I did not want to push more then 1.31 total volts on mine without further investigation. Now I did not even try to hit what that dude had on his memory.

As other who know me around here I use the same screen name across forums and 3dmark. I just saw the post as something like I said that made me question my actual headroom especially since I had done another successful "red mod" the day before.

I do have a quick question maybe someone can help with...why is my p6 state voltage higher then the p7 state?

p6 is 1298 Mhz @ 1168 mV
p7 is 1330 Mhz @ 1150 mV

Just kind of wondering as this makes no sense to me that the max speed state would require less voltage.

Its deffined by ASIC and VRM, so the VRM detects you need more voltage in stage 6 than 7 - For example I have two video cards one with 1100 and the other with 1150 with the same freq in "automatic" voltage.-

I think I may have had bungled my previous TIM application on my Sapphire card. Had it disassembled it just now to measure mounting points for some RAM and VRM heatsinks.Reapplied TIM and reassembled it... VRM temps are up 1C, core temps are down 7C. I'd say that's a bit more than a margin of error.

Regarding the driver; maybe there's someone who's not as lazy as me and wouldn't mind checking if it works with modded BIOS'? That whole workaround bit is a bit bothersome.

That's the first thing I checked. It's actually 1C more now. 21C vs. 20C during the earlier test.
