what's up with that? that dialog box always changes focus from battlefield and is annoying as hell.

It's written into Micro$hafts code. If nothing you have in that system is budget then don't sweat it. Hit no and chuckle. Aero is also CPU dependent which is why you will continue to see it. thumb.gif

Anyways my personal ones top out at 1440 stable and 1460-1480 bench stable so damn those 1500+ overclocks are awesome! Maybe that's why AMD felt it was worth rebranding as RX 500 series.

Well I tested two 480s.

A Nitro 480 1306Mhz base clock version and a Nitro 480 1340Mhz base clock version.

The former was a turd when it came to overclocking and wouldn't go past 1340Mhz stable. The second, like I said, went up to 1410Mhz but seemed to downclock (as the temps were decent even with 65% fan speed). Now it seems the newer 480s (especially the XFX) can get to 1400+ stable no problem.

I just played a round of BF1. 1425/2000. Not a single hiccup. biggrin.gif I didn't do too bad either, considering I haven't played it very much in a while.

how do you keep it so cool at such high voltage?
I have a 120mm fan feeding cool air in from the bottom....and a 80mm exhausting right on top of the VRM holes in the backplate. I also set the fan static at 65-68%, just depends on what I'm playing and how warm my office is.

EDIT:

I also have all my fans, with the exception of the AIO on a fan controller. So when I'm not running anything I can turn them down to low rpms.

This thing when paired with a good CPU becomes a monster. I benched some games @ 2560x1440 and 3480x2160 and each one was at playable frame rates.

I quoted you on this one, because you previously mentionned a higher stable OC (for 3DMark). Is this OC was stable while playing games ? (it was 1530/2170 i believe.)

Or does 1450/2000 is your max stable for gaming ?

in other words, does 1530/2170 is stricly for bench or is it stable somewhere else ?

Crossfire won't make any difference in fps for CS:GO. That game relies heavily on CPU not the graphics.
