Yes. Someone on reddit grabbed one from there too and upgraded it but I never saw that version on Alternate or elsewhere it was an hour deal or a couple days deal and then it was gone. None ever were shipped to my country and I've asked shops for that version since launch, they never reply or don't know, distributor doesn't have/offer, etc. And it's the same with the rest of 4xx most of the time.

Damn countries with cheap electricity hoard all the AMD cards every launch.

Overall AMD is overpricing most of it's products, some of which I understand because they are not cheap to make but there are many that would be so much more competitive if priced better and move higher volume as a result. Many times I see AMD GPUs and CPUs priced higher than faster competing products from other brands, it's no wonder they are sinking year after year and not many want to buy their products overall.

I would have know if some of you experienced these too :

  1. Black screen desktop
  2. GPU load 100% IDLE
  3. Flickering desktop FreeSync

Thanks !

100% idle happens on my RX 470 after sleep/hibernation.

No flickering with FreeSync (Viewsonic 1920x1080 75hz 21.5")

No "black screen desktop" at stock speeds. I have had black screen crashes from pushing overclocks too far.

Where? Everything MSRP wise is lower, if a store prices over that it is not AMD's fault.

If they choose wrong distributors it is. They have to realize that it's not just the price they sell it for that matters but that the actual users make the demand and for them a very different price matters and that is the retail price they can buy the products for.
Apparently Nvidia had less issue to stomp on the Pascal price gauging even though it's the more popular and often higher valued option. CPU wise, no comment they shouldn't even sell that stuff anymore at all and none of the AMD offerings made any sense to me to buy for 2 years+.

Was happening on the latest drivers on my 290x too actually. Disable sleep/hibernation and any power saving for gpu. I rolled back to June drivers too but you can't really

They don't choose distributors. AIB partners choose distributors.

AMD's problem with high prices is %90 mining market, %10 marketing decision. Its almost as if there is this thing called... supply and demand. NV does not push compute very hard on gaming cards, so they don't have to worry about single buyers snapping up 100+ cards each. Pascal does not have this industrial type demand.

Pascal runs fast for mining but you have to use Linux and the overall hype for mining is stuck on AMD while the overall hype for gaming is stuck on Nvidia... :/
The NV cards can mine fast and as profitable if not even more than AMD with new NV cards.

Seven different entries are in stock, which is a record, and six are accepting preorders.

This is better than the best times for the RX 470 (which currently only has four entries in stock).

Agreed. AMD should have only differentiated the capacity (for the RX 480), not the capacity and the frequency. I hear, though, that the issue may have been created by a stock issue for the 512MB 8GHz chips.

Depends on the mining you are doing. Looks like Ethereum is the mine of the day, where the RX 470 outperforms the GTX 1060 by enough to matter.

In fact, the RX 480 performs nearly as well as the Fury X for mining (25 vs 26.5).

RX 480 has the shortest payback period of all GPUs - 164 days (assuming $199 purchase price). The best nVidia card is the GTX970, with a payback period of 311 days (assuming $259 purchase price).

GTX 1060 only has a hash rate of 20.
