No memory errors....just a very odd max core voltage and core power....I don't think I used 49 millions watts...lmao!

Excellent, so you're experiencing the driver issues I'm working on reporting to AMD.

If you could duplicate this post here:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1609366/amd-16-8-1-16-8-2-memory-clocks-not-working

It will give me a single link to paste for AMD.

The 16.7.3 driver is the oldest that supports RX 470, but it also has problems, namely improper memory clock limit and a few specific game crashing issues. Still, giving it a run might be worthwhile.

Until then, I'd suggest to leave memory clocks at stock with the knowledge that when this bug is fixed you'll pick up another 5~10% performance nearly across the board.

Whatever change AMD made to the drivers in regards to the memory clocks in 16.7.3 should simply be reverted - these issues didn't exist prior to this.

The interesting thing is the overall performance is about the same even with the negative performance scaling on the memory. If we can get memory scaling back we're in for a nice performance bump.

edit: not anymore. once the issue started, .it's bad. ugh. Don't like these drivers. It makes running 1450 or 1435 pointless.

Anyone knows the stock voltage on 1750Mhz vRAM and 2000Mhz vRAM? And how much voltage you can push both models?

AFAIK the software modifiable voltage is not the actual RAM voltage. Its the memory controller in the GPU, default is 1000mv/1.0v.

Correct, and as far as I know the VRAM is set at a static 1.5v.

Valley and Heaven both ran fine with the card undervolted to 1090, but it would crash in Firestrike/Time Spy, even BF4 on a the test range. The ASIC is horrible too...67.5.

Here's my wattman for 1450. Keep in mind that my voltage offset of 112.5mv or (12h*6.25) is being applied to all pstates including p0 but not on the memory controller. I'm back to 16.7.2. I can't get quite the heaven scores I was at before because I've degraded my processor a bit when I accidentally ran my cache at 2.0 volts for a day. I'm stuck at 4.8/4.5 on my 4790k until kaby lake comes out. I can verify that memory scaling and performance is back to normal otherwise.

I'm on water so the cooling settings don't seem to mater for me.. I'm running embd 1.1r2. 1.2 wouldn't apply the changes for me. I can verify that it changes the powerlimit even though it still shows 50 it is actually +100 in effect.

1750->1800 = negative scaling
1750->1850 = no change
1750->1925 = slight gain

This is no matter what my core speeds are. Sometimes the clocks apply properly and I see a comparatively huge gain in performance, but its sporadic.

Pretty much pulled everything back to stock levels with boosted power limit because 1400 only shows ~7% gain. Not worth the extra power and noise, perhaps when these memory clock issues get ironed out. When everything is working properly the gains are up to 15%, but that is not reliably repeatable.

KK- can you post that over in http://www.overclock.net/t/1609366/amd-16-8-1-16-8-2-memory-clocks-not-working for loon. He's going to send the results to AMD. Maybe they'll get it fixed. Or maybe they wont care and it will eventually be "accidentally" fixed. .

I actually running very stable at 1270/1750. I don't see any reason to mess with the Vram, except what little bit I've done. I can get the core up to about 1310+/-. I am running stock voltage across all P-States. I've set the power to +50 and went away. I've been benching all day. I did do a little with the Vram, but I'm not really sure what your looking for. Maybe I'm just using the wrong tool to see it. I've ran Furmark at 1000/Core 1750-2100/memory. Probably less that 1-2fps difference. I also used the same setting to run Firestrike/Time Spy graphic test one.

Here are my current Wattman settings(Stock Votage,+50 power limit):
