Need help with overclocking questions

Hi I was wondering about if I could overclock with my b150 LGA 1151 ddr4 mobo and an i5 6600k,
I own a thermal take water 3.0 extreme s. I was told by a friend that I could get to 4.6 ghz with this cooler and it would be stable, is this true?biggrin.gif

This is really a question for the Intel forum, it is not a cooling (and certainly not liquid cooling) issue.

Yes it is a cooling issue I want to know the effectiveness of my cooler, may I have a true answer to my question?

The answer is it may, or may not be true. Every CPU is different. Your CPU may, or may not OC to 4.6 at all. It may, or may not require excessive voltage to get there.

This question is about overclocked, and is speculative.

Pretty much. It really depends on how much voltage is needed to get your 6600K to 4.6, and whether you use better fans on that 240mm CLC or not.

A Thermaltake Water 3.0 will work fine. To truly take advantage of water cooling requires delidding the processor though.
