Just let it be. Many people grew up with Pokemon when they were a kid, and were really big fans of it, can finally play the game outside of the house and outside of the console because the nostalgia is real. No big deal. If anything, it gets kids to go outside and play instead of shoving their face into the Xbox and iPad. Of course, those kids don't know the real hype for those that grew up watching Pokemon. Nintendo got people to come together and play, kids coming together and play, and making exercise more fun in 24 hours when the first ladies of the U.S couldn't do it in 8 years, EACH.

The scare of tracking and what not has been existing for years through Google, Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft. So odds are, someone is already collecting data from you.

The game is fun. If it isn't for you, then so be it. Don't be a hater and go your own way. To each his own.

It sure is a lot more fun to play, and get a good amount of walking in... Especially if you compare it to other ar games. At least Pokemon Go is bringing people together, as opposed to Ingress where the community is so... ... Toxic towards each other, almost to league of legends levels, especially the whole frog vs smurf stuff, and how some of the higher up agents will deliberately target certain members of the other side who are doing even remotely well.

... And that's why I'm an opportunistic smash and grab player in Ingress nowadays. Oh, wait, I joined the Resistance so I'm supposed to be opportunistic about things, at least according to the frogs! (I joined resistance because of the storyline)

Funny because Pokemon Go actually evoked feelings of disgust for me.

I remember fondly the good times I had playing the original RBY on the Gameboy as a kid. I got so hooked I continued to buy and play every game that was released after that all the way up to Leaf Green and Fire Red. That's when the "goddamn how many more pokemans are they going to add???" cringe thought finally killed my desire to play any more pokemon. I knew they were far from done with milking the franchise but I never thought they'd milk it THAT much.I thought they were gonna stop at Diamond and Pearl; they proved me wrong. Then I thought they'd stop at Heart Gold/Soul silver; they managed to prove me wrong again. I thought they'd finally leave well enough alone after X and Y for sure, but once more they proved me wrong. And now we have this. I am speechless.

Well, better get ready then. Pokemon Sun and Moon drops in August. biggrin.gif If there is one thing, Pokemon has to be straight up Nintendo's biggest money maker.

Makes me wonder why the heck they have not made more amiibos of the pokemon. I would love to have amiibos of Rayquaza, Gourdon, and Kyorge. My three favorite legendarys. Plus, I'm a sucker for collecting figurines. Especially if they look like dragons or dinosaurs.

I believe the ones hating on it are the only ones who have not given it a try.
You unbelievable amount of social interactions revolving around this game is astounding.

I can attest. My Asus Sica has click lag, a wonky scroll wheel that tilts to the left, scratched feet and no side buttons. Still, it's the right shape and size for me biggrin.gif

I thought having to collect 350+ pokemon in Leaf Green/Fire Red was insane, and apparently X and Y have 718(!!!) and Sun/Moon is supposed to expand upon that. bigeyedsmiley.png I feel bad for the kids these days, and no wonder they have a short attention span lol

That's actually part of the reason why I quit pokemon, just got waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too grindy and was more chore than fun. RBY was fun because the plot was simple, and 150(+1) pokemon was easily manageable. GSC with 261 or so was still manageable, and the breeding mechanic also added a new dimension. But Ruby and Sapphire really made me hate my life towards the end, because in addition to almost 400 pokemans, the game mechanics got ever increasingly complicated with the introduction of personalities(?) or whatever it was called. I bought Leaf Green/Fire Red for the nostalgia factor and actually enjoyed them a lot more because the first half was basically a remastered and enhanced RBY which brought back some great memories.

Yeah, anybody that finishes the Pokedex in the newer games gets a tip of the hat from me. There's a guy doing a shiny living dex on YouTube right now, Basically, catch all 718 Pokemon, in shiny form, without trading for them. And you have to have them all in one game at one time.

EDIT: Found a video of his.
That's THE definition of masochistic. Catching a (one, singular) shiny is hard enough.

Seriously, you couldn't PAY ME to do it.
