It is undeniable that AMD's GCN GPUs were very underwhelming when they first released, but you could still play games back then. If you buy a Tesla knowing that there are no supercharges in your country, then you are buying a product that will not be usable at all. Also, there is an increasing amount of 4K content appearing now.

And as an actual consumer i expect to have same competitive performance as long as the product works. not a fake 5-6 months of hoo-haa and then it's like that product doesn't even exist.

There, I can't use this garbage until they fix System Info again. How can some system info gathering be this invasive to hang the system I can't understand. Btw, what's amusing is I have 0.3 more fps without async. I can't look at details again because it may and does hang on launch. This was a waste of time, pff.

Async off

GPU - 3690
CPU - 5798

Better results on the stock setting (1440p) but not bad. Interestingly at 2075 the display driver crashed. 3dmark always finds unstable overclocks for me but I've been rock solid everywhere else at 2075. Could just be the display driver crashing who knows. Regardless both these tests were done at 2050 on the core.

Async on - same default settings just in 4k per the custom run resolution selector

http://www.3dmark.com/spy/33819

GPU - 1955
CPU - 4785

So per this bench, gpu score on a gtx1080 @ 2050 core is slightly less than double the score of a 290x @ 1060 core (stock 1250mhz memory)

On a side note, a 4.7ghz Skylake is getting 1,000 points more cpu score over a 4.4ghz DC Haswell so if my bad math is remotely correct, a 5ghz haswell roughly equals a 4.6-4.7ghz Skylake?

On another side note, updated my username in futuremark as it had a very old steam user name tied to it as I bought it from there, so yes, angrykoolaid & solocamo are the same account if there were any questions in the future on the validity of my results.
