judging by the difference between 1080 and Fury X in DX12 async off mode being actually bigger than in DX11 I suspect overhead too, maybe even slightly worse than in DX11, it's a weird result to begin with, unlike async on mode where Fury X quite predictably narrows the gap.
Or maybe it's not Fury X, it could be 1080 being less restricted by the CPU than in DX11. This is 1080p for that matter so it could be the case. man I hope dx12 will be the remedy to solving cpu limiting the fps on high refresh monitors ....

Yep Fire Strike definitely does that to your card. Although Heaven consistently pushes a high sustained power draw which is why it's awesome for stability testing.

better to use firetstrike ultra stress test

Still not as good as Heaven in my experience. Problem with 3DMark is you always have 10+ seconds of idle time in between scenes. With Heaven you can just loop it until your card crashes or you get bored and deem the OC stable.

Alternatively, I just fire up a round of BF4 and play a few hours.

seems like GP104 has a bigger advantage over Fury X in AMD's "natural environment" that is DX12 async than it has over 980Ti in DX11. Didn't expect that.

with async off 1080 is 50% faster than Fury X, so I think it's even more than DX11 performance gap is.

edit: yup, techpowerup says 43% in DX11. So 43% faster in DX11 on avg, 38% in this dx12 benchmark with async on, 50% with async off.
is that you Zealot biggrin.gif

nice, surpassing stock Fury X result. Is your card unlocked to more shaders or just a normal Fury with oc ?

These results won't likely be reproduced in actual games. But i guess we have to see. If games perform differently I think we should ditch 3Dmark as a useful measure.

I don't use 3dmark as a useful measure for anything other than 3dmark. To me it just for "fun".

It's not going to be much help in some areas on checking performance for sure. In Doom on my FuryX i can go from NOAA to TSSAA8X with 0 fps loss. 3dmark doesn't appear to have anything for using AA which would be a nice way to see if there is hit on performance. Also will not be able to compare green vs red in the same area.

Anyways, i keep seeing this bench is able to use multi adapter but i don't see an option for it? Linke/unlinked gpu? Anyone have anything information on this?
