This pic looks weird to me... The water looks terrible. The amount of blurring they used and you can see straight lines cut through the water to the left of the boat that slice the blurry part from the clear part. Both parts don't look like water. It's nice that they tried to make the crests and waves more detailed, and they even do swells that look half natural, but the water itself looks horribly unrealistic to me. perhaps they added too much sun reflection/cresting and effects or something. I dunno, whatever they did it makes that water look funky...

Can PS4 owners tell me what happen when you connect a current PS4 to a UHD display? The display may upscale the signal but the PS4 can't? So this 4K rumour is only upscaling or natively rendering at 4k?

I'm totally on the Neo hype train BTW. I have a crazy PS3 backlog but have no idea what I'd like to play on PS4 except for Naughty Dog stuff, Bloodborne and HOrizon zero dawn. Probably won't bother with Gran Turismo any more. Sly, Ratchet and God of War does not interest me any more.

PS4 has some solid titles coming out and with the Neo it will make the games even better: These are what im looking forward too.

  • Nier Automata (Platinum Games)
  • The Last Guardian
  • FFXV
  • Nioh (Dark Souls/Onimusha gameplay style)
  • FFVII remake
  • Dragon Quest XI (expected 2017)

This will never be able to run mainstream games at 4K @60 fps, some indie games maybe.

Scorpio Master Race?

Still the Neo is going to be solid considering what Dev's can do on current hardware.

Post your own ingame screenshots or those are it? It looks strange, sometimes cartoon like, the shadows are off. It has high details textures where it matters but you can notice the low poly models too.
Watching actual gameplay... yeah just like any other game today, same issues with graphics as other games due to either nonexistent solutions to them or solutions being way too complex for today's GPUs. People try to look realistic but in fact look plastic especially animations, reflections, long hair that moves, ... bleh.

So how fast does it run on PS4? 30fps? 60fps? 90fps?
On PC it's quite normal to have a powerful enough GPU and change in game settings to get 90fps average, hell even 90fps minimum for a very smooth and fast gameplay.

I don't get this obsession with U4, it's all the time on OCN I guess it's the best looking PS4 game, but certainly not the best looking game on any platform today.

Looks like they threw a few filters on there, mostly a massive amount of sharpening.

you have to take into account that games are developed to fully utilize it's hardware. It's also one of the few real world applications of HSA. 500Mhz (30% OC) should be plenty noticeable given to utilization.

PS4 only uses hUMA though, doesn't it? I don't see anywhere that says it uses anything else from HSA.

I still don't see the point of this console update unless it's a necessity for psvr.
