i7 5820k,Asus x99-a usb3 - Page 2

OK- basically you're stating;

on stock, its very unstable. you have it OCed, its more stable. Lets change it all back to factory settings

You had completed a fresh install of Win 10 very recently, still having issues, go into your BIOS and set everything as default

at this point what I would do as testing all hardware

remove all drives connected to the board besides main SSD / HDD

put 980Ti back in (with the driver)

since you didn't specify the specific RAM type, im going to assume its dual channel, (stating you have 4 DIMMs, so yea)

Put ram in grey slots ( black slots are for quad channel type)

if issues still occur, remove all but one DIMM from the board,

If issue still occurs, try another power supply as stated above

that sure doesn't sound power related, i think you may be right about the mobo?

curious problem? i think your right about the mobo being a likely culprit, here's what i'm thinking

- its not the cpu, occt suggets that
- its not the gpu, crash happens with either gpu
- its not the psu, crash happens without high power requirements (stock clocks and during basic boot)

- fiddling with mobo pcie config seems to makes a difference --> possibly mobo
(i say seems because it looks like the problem is intermittent, so pcie fiddling may not be causal)

- process of elimination --> mobo or maybe psu cables?

How to you have your "Startup and Recovery" settings set? Are you setup to capture crash dump files or log to the system event log? Maybe there's some artifact of the crash that could help point u in the right direction.
