[Solved] Slow post after enabling XMP Profile

Thread Starter
Trying to figure out if this is an issue or normal behavior. When everything is set to default settings in the bios it only takes 5 seconds to see the post screen. As soon as I enable the XMP profile it takes 15 seconds to see the post screen.

Disabling MCH full check still takes 15 seconds to see the post screen.

My ram kit

Ran memtest and everything passes when XMP is enabled.

If you have an ASUS board (You probably do because I have the same issues) then there's an option inside DRAM timings that does this.

I sadly don't know which option is that, I just know it is there because last night I changed 10 different settings and now my boot time increase by a factor of 5!

I will keep testing my RAM for this week and if I find the setting responsible of this I will share it here, if you find it first don't hesitate on sharing smile.gif

Thanks, I'll keep looking! I know most motherboards have a feature called "DRAM fast boot" under DRAM timings but I believe on Asus z170 boards it's MCH full check.

Edit: WOW I'm blind MRC Fast Boot was right in front of me, I kept skipping over it I guess. Disabled MCH Full Check and enabled MRC fast boot.
