How to get the most out of my AMD FX-8120!

Thread Starter
I bought a Hyper 212 Evo yesterday installed it and now overclocked it to 4.0Ghz which i'm running right now temps are 22@idle and like 40@Maxed

I been playing csgo for a while and overclock my cpu recently didnt see much of a fps boost with my GTX 760Fps and now my game is locked @127 and I still get drops to like 90fps.

Anyone have any tips.

Well, have you OC'd the 760 yet? There's not too much headroom left on the 8120 since it's a 4+1 VRM motherboard.

Thanks,
As Dead Meat said, there's probably not a lot more gas left in the motherboard's tank for safely pushing an 8 core.

Have you tried fiddling with the graphics settings for CSGO ? If you upped your cpu clock and didn't make any gains in framerate it might be the gpu holding you back.

Have you tried monitoring your cpu / gpu usage with software like hwinfo?

I get like 150+ fps in csgo sometimes over 200.

Going to mess with my graphics card whats a good overclock to start at? because my 760 is the superclocked one from EVGA so its clocked high already.
