It has DX12, I can't see it getting Vulkan too. EA/DICE is rather predictable with this sort of thing. As long as a game has one or the other I'm fine with it, although Vulkan is better because it doesn't require Windows 10.

They're essentially the same thing both based off Mantle, so if they don't I'd say it's because they have a marketing deal with Microsoft and the Xbox One.. rolleyes.gif

If you're a large enough studio to not need the support that MS offers with DX12 then there's no point choosing it over Vulkan, they both do the same things except Vulkan isn't restricted to Win 10.

May be it is the shared video ram, yes it is much slower as compared to dedicated VRAM. But DX11 has functions to use it as well if the GPU is out of dedicated VRAM.
here HD 7850 1GB (1000/1500) has 1GB dedicated + 4GB shared = 5 GB total VRAM with 8GB system RAM. SOM w/ HD texture and everything at ultra on 1600 x 900 ( no AA) gives 18-35 fps, you can see the game is using 959 MB dedicated + 2173 MB shared VRAM, that is 3132 MB (3.0 GB) total VRAM consumption. I think something similar should be happening with Fury X on 4K.

It's true the overall optimization is quite good usually, but for instance, on BF4, the effects, fire and smoke optimization is non existant, massive frame drops during explosions, fire etc even with a high-end system ! so there is still work to be done tongue.gif

Star Wars: Battlefront has no such issues though? Also those effects (smoke in particular) are still quite bad right now in BF1, and don't seem volumetric but still 2D.

I have witnessed my friend had his i7 3820 set at stock clocks and frame rates were solid 110-120 fps even with all that massive explosion going on on 1080p. It was with single 280X and Mantle in BF4 two years ago.

With BF and the such, you just jump directly into fighting, but you can also log-out at any given moment with no real impact on the overall game.
Qualities valuable to serious gamers that have things in RL distracting them.

I agree that a great SP campaign is desirable, but the vast majority of BF players will spend 10s if not 100s of time more into MP maps than the campaign, so, if I had to pick resources being allocated on one or the other mode, I would personally pick the MP.
Exactly. The fact is that MP games provide entertainment one or two orders of magnitude more than SP games. Statistically speaking, they're the better investment, and if DICE has to allocate resources and make compromises, it'd better invest more on the mode on which i spend hundreds of hours.

Sounds good, haven't played Battlefront yet, I seen a friend play on Xbox one I was quite amazed by the textures, I must say it I might grab it when it's 5-10$ just for the lols biggrin.gif

I can't remember if I'm using mantle, since I reinstalled it..mmh thanks for reminding me, it might just be a non mantle thing then I don't know

Hi everyone,

Has anybody tried to run this game at 1440p with 1 290x on ultra settings? If yes did you get at least 60 FPS? I am starting to look for an upgrade if it's needed. If not no biggie. I will wait and still buy the game and see how it preforms.
