At the rate NVIDIA is controlling the market when it comes to DX12 implementation, you should heed our warning that AMD has not won anything. The Behemoth will not be swayed to do what it must until its products are in line with the API.

Even the actor Terry Crews was inspired to build a gaming PC after playing BF1. And he got a HTC Vive. thumb.gif The man has good taste in hardware. https://m.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/4spvzz/terry_crews_joins_pc_master_race/

Too bad they didn't have the GTX 1060 to benchmark, it's already selling out over here, and is priced surprisingly in line with the RX480...fancy that happening! rolleyes.gif

Choices are always good for consumers. I'm glad there's competition for the RX480. Even though I'm still probably going to get it over the GTX 1060.

The point I was slyly alluding too, was that the GTX 1060 is priced the way it is, because of the RX 480.
I think due to the RX 480 not convincingly beating my OC'ed 290X, I'll just try to wait it out for Vega/1080Ti.

Well, I'd have to admit, I don't think the RX 480 had that much of an effect on the price of the 1060. X60 products have traditionally released at $199-$249. Disregarding the FE edition (and retail price gouging) the 1060 and 1070 released at prices we've seen before (Though, one could argue, that back in the day, the X70 was the second in line in terms of performance, and not the 4th (3rd if you don't count the Titan)). The 1080 is higher than its ever been (Compound this with the fact that it's not even the flagship anymore)

Then again, inflation is a thing.

And retailers price gouging is a very common thing here in Aus, unfortunately.

Unfortunately, unless they can supply enough that there is proper competition between retailers, Nvidia nor AMD can really control that aspect.
