I'd only be using the cx for 6 months then it'll be a backup/testing psu

Why not get the RM550x or RM650x for $70.00 or $79.00? The RMx series is just about the best of the best right now.

And yeah, 6 months shouldn't be too long, especially if you don't do any hardcore overclocking. :)

Thanks for the suggestion I'll return the cx tomorrow and grab the evga

Don't really see the need for a 750W PSU in that system, a 550W will be more than sufficient. I'd pick up the XFX TS550 https://www.amazon.com/XFX-Wired-Bronze-Power-Supply/dp/B004RJ8EKI It is based off the Seasonic S12IIT internals

Same PSU different name at the time, http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story3&reid=225

I liked the EVGAs review and that before rebate it's the same price with shipping I paid in store for the cx. I'll just grab the EVGA lol thanks again

Edit: my budgets tight for about 5 weeks so 80-90$ including shipping is a hard limit so I'd prefer less before rebate

The 750W B2 is a good quality-made modular PSU for $59. Did you look at the JonnyGURU review for the 750W B2?

The XFX TS 550 isn't modular at all. It's also lower in quality, group-regulated.

Aren't the CX and CS series PSUs the ones that usually have a rebate like every other week for $15-20?

The reason I bring it up is that if you paid full price for your CX750M you can likely find a better deal if you really still wanted that one at some point, but as mentioned already they seem to be offering better choices for the same or better pricing.
