Have a AM3+ FX-8350 setup, wondering if I should go Skylake.

I have not used Intel chips in a long time and I upgraded a budget rig to FX-8350 almost 3 years ago. While overall I am happy with my current setup... I feel is lags behind when it comes to MMORPGs such as Guild Wars 2... or any game that is CPU dependent. I know it have trouble with physics particularly in games. So it is worth spending around a estimated $900 for the parts to upgrade?

I'd need a new Motherboard, DDR4 memory, CPU (I'd get a 240mm Corsair Liquid Cooler).... currently most recent upgrades is GTX 1070 and a Acer 271HU. But I feel I'm limiting the potential of the GTX 1070 by staying with the 8350. My motherboard is PCIe 2.0 so I'm not sure I'd see performance games with PCIe 3.0 either.

You will see a plethora of benefits.

In addition to the giant IPC gains with Skylake and removing the giant bottleneck on your GTX1070, you will get a modern chipset with PCI-e 3.0, NVMe support, superior SATA controller, DDR4. And the list goes on.

I say go for it.
