Well, it is that time once more. 3 or so years since my last build, time for something new.

Last time it was a a nice 350D with a pair of Titans and X79. This time though, decided to go a bit smaller.

Hence, the ASrock X99 ITX. With the new Caselabs BH2, thought the time was right for something nice and small.

Here is the specs:

700w Silverstone PSU Corsair SF600 (Silverstone Unit Had a very loud rattle, and they wasn't too cooperative on replacing it)
ASrock X99 ITX
6950X CPU
32GB Ram
4 x 1TB SSD
2 z 4TB HDD
512GB Samsung M.2
GTX1080 GTX Titan Xp
Caselab BH2
Predator 240 Cooling

I have everything in hand save the BH2 and the GTX1080.

Already cut the tubes down on the Pred so it would fit, as well as added the narrow ILM mount, so install should be easy.

Should.

And to get the board to see the 6950X, so already in hand.

Thanks for the peeks folks..

Just waiting for @Case Labs to come through for me on getting my BH2.

And while I am at it...

When I first started working on this plan, I noted that Case Labs pointed out the Predator 240 will fit, but had some issues as seen below (Not my pic):

You can see, won't quite work. Sooooo... found some EK 90 degree rotaries, got my hands on the X99 mounting kit and a narrow 2011 mount, and cut the hoses down bit, well, that should work out.

it is probably not as short as it could be, but rather go a bit long than a bit short.

*edit* In hindsight, should have got my hands on 4 of those 90 degree fittings, but ah well. Not going to go back and do it all over.

That poor little motherboard!

Alright.

My 1080 is in, so I will put it all together in a test bench to make sure it all works, and post some pics when I get home.

niiiiiice.

Don't need to do a Bios update as it already sees the right CPU and RAM. Most excellent. Now to install windows.

*edit*

The included fan/heatsink with the motherboard is a nice thing that they added, but it is loud. Oh My Word loud.

Titan Rig has the case I am using in stock, but I already ordered and paid for it via Case Labs.

Subbing because it sounds like a fun adventure!

Heh, with the Titan being out today, I am sorely tempted to score one and replace the 1080 with it.

#23 ·
Hrm...

Debating: can the predator 240 handle a 6950X and a 1080 at the same time?

#25 ·
Woowoo...

The case is finally here. Can finally really start putting it all together.
