Those are 980's being tested though, not even 980 Ti's. I think the question is more about how SLI Titan XP would handle PCIe Gen3 x8 speeds. Probably still fine or very little change but would be interesting to test regardless.

I'm not sure if you're ignoring what I said on purpose or just trying to play ignorant. I showed you a video with actual gameplay showing a tangible difference. You linked a video trying to teach me what I already know about PCIE and GPUs (and I've seen that video already).

You also did testing of FPS and not frame times. These are not the same thing and there has been tests that show frame times have been improved. There's a reputable member on here that has even gone as far as to say he noticed a tangible difference with the HB bridge.

There's a link that has at least 4 titles with results that aren't just 'margin-of-error' increases.

I am using EVGA's hybrid for the 1080. The power cable for the fan and the pump is a pain to wire underneath the shroud of the fan. I was not able to take the backplate off because I did not have the proper hex driver for i, but you can still remove the fan header with a pair of needle nose pliers gently. Other than that its just your typical tinker with screws

Not too bad.

about 33% faster stock on air out the box than my best runs with Maxwell T-X cards watercooled, heavily overclocked maxed out voltage from custom bios.
BTW, anyone know if there is a way to convince the cards that the two SLI bridges are actually a single HB bridge?

just use an LED hard bridge. That will have the bandwidth needed for 4k. (not mobo hard bridge.. but LED)

Does the motherboard hard bridge give the warning message in Nvidia control panel saying your sli configuration could be performing better with a higher quality bridge? My assumption was that motherboard hard bridges were pretty much the same as the LED bridges.

it was my understanding that the LED bridge work at a higher hz. There was once a NVidia slide that showed ribbon, hard, led, and HB SLI bridges with the LED being better than the hard. I think it was some pre-release slide. The official ones only used ribbon, LED and HB.
